Hey, all! I'm gonna keep this one short and sweet, I just wanted to update everyone on the progress being made on alpha 2.0. A lot of patrons already know most of these details.
I have completely reworked a ton of mechanics from character stats, team building, equipment, battles, and many more things. I've also removed the weight system and grinding for experience. The game now focuses more on exploration, resource-gathering, and puzzle solving.

Number one, I had a severe case of the flu over the last week which really hampered progress as well as took me out of my IRL job for a couple days. This dev build is heavily focused on fixing bugs related to Gwen's events caused by all the recent changes. I also spent a good amount of time improving and adding to her scenes. There are quite a few little tweaks and changes as well as new images and scenes.

Fixed a bug causing Olivia to crash the game
Fixed the KO bug for good and brought back the option to load a save file from the gameover screen
Fixed a problem causing Chasing/Hunting giants to skip around. They are now much snappier
Created a ton of fail-safe conditions for dialogues that improperly get passed null giant data (This is a big issue I'm working on)
Olivia will now always chase you upon becoming aware

This is a quick hotfix for some of the most egregious bugs plaguing the last dev-build.

I'm going to flow with an experiment. Some of you may have already seen the vip-gallery on the Discord app. In short, I'd like to do some one-off renders every now and then of the characters in different clothes and poses and from different camera angles.

This one will be a quick update. Everything is moving along really well, I'm actually very excited to share the changes I've been working on, but those changes have, probably predictably, taken longer than I had hoped. That means no January release. It's only a slight delay, however, and I am working hard to get the next patron dev-build out as soon as possible. I think I really only need another week or two at most the get things in order.

Welcome to the beginning of 2025!
I have some big plans in store that I will be revealing within the next week. I had a great December which allowed me to step away and not think about the game for a bit. After coming back and spending some time fiddling with the old build, I've come to more than a few conclusions.

Added difficult climbing sections
Some rare areas while climbing will allow the player to fully rest and recover stamina. These areas are typically places where the avatar is sitting, like on a shoulder or in a pocket.
Added debug command "eliminate_action_meters" which reduces all giant awareness to zero
Added more unique titles for saves when in particular zones

You can no longer pass time while over-encumbered.
Heavily nerfed how much stamina can be recovered while climbing. Was 50%, is now 10%.
Successful hides now recover stamina by 100% unless climbing.

I've decided to just suspend subscriptions for a month. Billing will resume on December 27th. This is just the easiest way rather than asking people to unsubscribe/resubscribe.

So, it's been a while since I made one of these all encompassing updates and the game is now officially public. I'll be posting in various forums and may even start an itch-io page, but I haven't decided on that latter part, yet. Going forward, I expect to update alpha 1.0 once or twice more as I fix bugs and patch the game. After that, the game will go back into a development phase with patrons being given special access to dev builds.

During giant event battles, the body part icons will stay up until after the player's action. This is a bit glitchy at moments in unintended ways. More attention will need to be given to this.
