The night was just barely starting to fade, though the area around the neighborhood was rather well lit, as she completed half a circuit of the development. The woods and surrounding areas were quite dark, but plenty of people either had motion sensor lights or just left their external lights on these days to help out in case a strong beast showed up. It was certainly easier to fight something powerful in the light rather than fumble around in the dark.

She was even sort of wishing for more golems to fight, as she had just leveled to twenty near the end, as leveling seemed to be getting slightly more difficult the stronger her and Blood got. Another few hundred golems and she could easily get to at least twenty-one before they had to leave. But sadly, such things were not to be, as the golems were all dead, leaving only sh...

Beth desperately twisted to the side as she threw her arms up in front of her, shielding her head from the incipient blast. She had, by chance, wedged the blade of her sword into the ground in front of her torso, and the burnished metal absorbed some of the electricity trying to sear out her eyeballs and fry her brain. It was still quite a load of electricity for her to absorb, and her tall, lithe body spasmed and convulsed as the current flowed through it. The salamander took this opportunit...

This time it was a massive overhead blow that sheared through both vines, quick and clean, like a surgeon's blade. Beth wasn't able to stop the sword after severing the vines, and even with the fibrous plant matter having absorbed much of the energy, the blade of her weapon still slammed into the floor of the jungle with enough force to dig out a nearly foot deep gouge. Once at the edge, she noticed Blood had trotted a good distance away and stood watching her, her furry brow ruffled. Beth set the plant down in front of herself and dropped into meditation, examining her own condition with the powerful skill. She noted a slew of tiny black dots in what she perceived to be her circulatory system, mainly concentrated in her head and neck. She tapped into her regeneration skill and focused on all the black dots, noticing as she did so that some of them disappear...

It was, in fact, so easy for both her and Blood to kill the beast that by the fiftieth crab Beth was running around aggroing extra beasts that weren't currently fighting her to speed the process up. In all, it took slightly less than forty minutes to kill all one hundred crabs, as crippling their movement was exceptionally easy. Killing the crippled crabs proved only a slight bit harder, a single good thrust in the right place from Beth enough to deal a one-hit kill.
