Saban Entertainment's english adaptation of Digimon Adventure came out during a time where it was rare for english dubbed anime to preserve certain nuances found in the original material. However, it's possible that the success of Digimon in the west had less to do with what was cut out and maybe more to do with what was actually kept in.

With how well-known the Ghost Stories dub is for its vulgar humour and largely divergent script, we thought it was worth hypothesizing what kind of precedent it would set if more dubs were to go down this route, as well as how the popular understanding of its backstory came to be in the first place.
