Good Morning!

Chapter 18

Louella

There was a boom as the airship under me exploded violently. I looked at without a care. Just the cycle of life. The energy in my body raged, wanting to strike out more! The ones that bled light were the enemy though. I must not forget that thought. Raising my hands above my head, I formed a massive ball of lightning before hurling it at the next airship.

The ball slammed against the light curtain around it, and I frowned. I wanted to see more flames. I took a breath and moved toward the curtain fist first. In a blink of an eye, I was in front of the curtain and there was another boom as I slammed into it. I failed to break through this one with a single blow, but I did manage to crack it.

I reached my other hand out. Sitting it into the crack with my right hand, I began to surge my mana. The light curtain around me dimmed before it turned black. With a shattering sound, the barrier broke like glass and I flew in, impacting the deck of the airship. The white ones rushed me but when I touched them, they turned black and stopped moving.

Each step I took burned the airship under me. After only a half a dozen steps, the airship was a raging bonfire. Pointing toward the back end of the ship, a bolt of lightning as thick as a man rushed from my fingertip. The energy crashed through the ship tearing through it with ease. It struck the mana engine responsible for its flight and exploded violently.

Slowly starting to float as the ship fell, again I felt nothing about the death of at least two hundred people. They were the enemy. It was a fate they brought on themselves. Energy crackled around me before I turned to face the next of the enemy ships. There were still over two dozen. Ribbons of light sliced through the air toward me. I lightly moved to the side easily dodging the magic. Everything appeared to be in slow motion around me.

With a thought, I flashed toward the next ship. Just before I hit it, several layers were added to the light curtain. It didn’t matter. Slamming into it, I sank my hands into the offensive magic, bright sparks jumping from the contact. I dug my fingers into the curtain and pulled violently pulled it apart. It shattered as I moved into the air above the airship.

Soldiers and mages ran about, but I barely noticed them. They felt… insignificant to me. Magic of all types crashed into me and around me. I swatted away any of it that was even remotely a danger before landing lightly on the desk of the ship. A woman rushed me with her longsword. I caught the downward strike with my pointer, the metal electrified instantly blasting her across the deck of the ship.

The rest of the crew attempted to stop me. Swords, pikes, lances, spears, axes, and all other manner of weaponry angled at me. The people attacked as if they were possessed, as everything I touched one of the metal weapons, a charred coprse would be added to the pile around me.

A ribbon of light that was able to tear through the ship’s shield spells slammed into my stomach. I felt only a twinge. Reaching down, I found a small cut that bled lightning. It healed before I took my hand away. I raised my hands then clapped sending a wave of lightning around me. Anyone that was still alive was sent flying. They landed and only a few were even twitching afterward.

I ignored the blackened corpses and looked for the mana engine. I found it more toward the center of the ship this time. Before I could strike it, an arrow with a dense terra signature streaked through the air toward me. Reaching out, I grabbed it just before it struck and turned to take in the elf that had fired the projectile.

Fear was on his face, but there was also determination. Even as his body smoked, he was determined to stop me. I tossed the arrow to the ground before smiling. I raised both my hands up and generated a large ball of plasma before tossing it to my feet. The superhot cloud spread out quickly eating at the deck that was incinerated instantly. I leaped into the air as the ship cracked from the structural damage before the mana engine exploded brutally throwing those that were still alive to the raging seas below.

This wasn’t enough. I needed to break them faster. I cupped my hands and willed mana to gather around me. Bolts of lightning arced from the storm striking my floating form. I imagined the weapon that Regan used to crush the airships and cities. I needed something like that. Plasma gathered around me into a large sphere absorbing more and more mana.

With a thought, I separated the sphere into several individual ones. Much more mana and the single sphere would have condensed into a sun. I couldn’t let something like that happen near the surface of the planet. I knew the air would burn away from most of the surface. While part of me didn’t care, another part was stopping me from doing it.

Once I had enough, I thrust my arms into the air and the spheres flew up through the storm clouds. I positioned them above as many of the enemy ships as I could. There was an almost deafening crack as if from a bolt of lightning, before a near solid blue light lanced down in over a dozen places. The ships hit immediately exploded from the pure destruction caused.

I lowered my hands breathing heavily for only a second. Mana rushed into my body and I recovered quickly. While I watched the enemy fleet burn in front of me, there was a boom. Turning toward the source, I found someone fighting what looked like a storm turned monster. It took me a second to realize I knew the name of the person. It was Izora. Turning back to the enemy fleet, I located the remaining ships and took off toward the nearest ignoring the woman.

“Yes. Kill and massacre.” I jerked to a stop and looked around. I was sure I heard a voice. Something inside agreed with the voice. “You can hear me while awake. That is good progress!”

“Who… are… you?” I demanded struggling to talk for some reason.

“Malthos. Dear child. The one that will consume this planet along with the rest of the galaxy. I am the end! OF EVERYTHING!” the voice crashed through my head painfully. I gripped the sides of my head as it felt like it would crack if I didn’t.

“Get! Out!” I shouted before surging my mana into a sphere around me. The storm responded as did the ocean as a funnel was formed that quickly grew in size. Hurtling winds, rain, and lightning that would kill anyone under tier three roared around me as I futilely tried to protect myself. I curled into a ball as the voice continued to smash its way through my mind.

“You can’t stop me!” It roared laughing. “You’ve already gone too far! You’re mine now!” The storm continued to grow stronger as more and more mana poured out. “You may be the lock but I will break you! Then! Then I will consume this world just like I did the demon world a millennium ago!” The voice’s laughter grew more sinister by the second.

I suddenly felt…warmth around me. I struggled to open my eyes and found Wrakras wrapping his arms around me. The pain receded from my head for a moment and I flung myself at him. “It hurts!” I screamed as tears that arced with lightning rolled down my cheeks.

A sphere of darkness washed over us and even managed to drowned out the sound of the hurricane raging around us. The pressure of the voice receded some more. “I know. I have called the master. Only he can help us.”

“You think a puny dungeon core can stop me from taking what I want!?” the voice demanded obviously offended. I dug my head into Wrakras’s shoulder to try and get away from it, but it was hard to run from the voices in your head. The sphere of darkness grew denser.

“What is with today?” A cool voice reached my ears. Something about it was able to wash much of the pain I was feeling away. I carefully pulled my head from Wrakras’s shoulder and looked. A strange man floated in the air with a majestic robe whipping around him.

“Master.”

“Yo. Wrakras. Quite the mess you guys have made here,” the man responded. If Wrakras was calling him master, then it must be Regan. He floated closer to us. “I think its time we had a proper chat with the being that would play parasite to your brain.” He extended his finger tapped my forehead. A second later the world went black.
