Dungeon Annihilation 3-13

Chapter 13

Regan/Earle

I looked at the Garden and sighed. The woman, Ezal, had burned a good chunk of it to the ground. Being the dungeon, it would go back to normal in a few hours, but it was still annoying. Lust was thoroughly pissed. I just shook my head.

“Master,” I glanced at the call and spotted Raven leaning against a wall of the cathedral. The others from Louella’s party were there as well. The one I thought was named Cane had been blown to a few pieces in the initial blast. I was impressed he was still alive.

“What is it, Raven?”

“The priests here won’t be able to heal Cane back completely. I wanted to know if you would be willing to heal him in your Nyx form?”

I mentally tapped my chin as I considered it. It was a good idea, since I had told Louella that she was in good favor with Nyx. It would help to further the cause with her. If the lord was for the religion then it would grow at a decent speed.

“Very well.” I ordered one of the priestess to led them to a statue of Nyx. Once they were under it, I ordered Raven to pray. I waited then took possession of the statue, letting it form to look like flesh and blood. “A follower calls out in need.” I looked the group over and saw Louella looking on with wide eyes. Holding my hand out over the man, I channeled mana into him using darkness. His damaged side started to heal before their eyes.

“Amazing!” the large, armored man shouted.

“A simple thing that another would hold over those in need,” I said with a sweet voice. It was still odd hearing me speak with a feminine voice, but whatever did the job. After another minute or two, the healing was complete. I had returned him to prefect shape.

“Thank you for healing him, Lady Nyx. I will remember this for as long as I live,” Louella said, and I had to fight to stop from laughing. Instead taking a bright smile, I nodded to her. I decided to drop a hint. “There is a sickness within all of you. I can’t see the source, but I can heal the damage.” Waving my hand, I healed the radiation poisoning from the dungeon.

“Why can’t you see the source?” The one named Mary demanded with an incredulous expression. “Shouldn’t you see all?”

“I never claimed to see all, but in this case, it is because a force equal to mine has hidden it.” With that, I returned the statue to normal.

“Was that really necessary?” Tez asked the woman.

“I still don’t trust this,” she replied with an annoyed tone.

“Trust it or not, I was never going to see this arm again. It feels better than it did this morning,” Cane exclaimed, moving his body and arm around.

The woman got further annoyed and stormed out of the cathedral. All the former slaves that overheard her stared her down with anger. Interesting. I turned away from them and looked around the dungeon. I had a lot to do. The Cyber Oni had found an interesting little tidbit of information. The gnomes had a sealed demon in their possession. I was very interested in getting my hands on that.

I wasn’t going to be rash about it though. From the records, it looked like the gnomes had a considerably rough time trying to subdue the demon in the past. The information was spotty, and warranted a further investigation before I did anything like freeing the demon. The fact that this demon appeared to be geared toward control was strongly noted.

“Looks like it is time I got acquainted with a certain princess,” I mumbled to myself as I took on my gnome form. Casting my vision around Jade Wind, I found the princess out near the docks. It looked like she was inspecting one of the royal families’ airships. There were three that were almost of par with the central tower, and were likely from the same time period. They were in good repair on the surface, but there were a lot of systems internally that were damaged or completely inoperable.

I looked around for a good spot then teleported to an out of the way spot in the docks. The noise of the air washed over me. The docks were the busiest part of the city, bringing in all the food and materials that the countries gave them for their airships. I made sure I looked the part of a gnome high official with a kimono before I left the alley.

Making my way toward the Raju, the royal family’s most active airship, I made sure to cast the air that I was inspecting the docks and should be left alone. As they say, act like you belong. It worked better than I expected, and soon I was right next to the Raju. I looked over the rail and where there would normally be water, a straight drop of close to two kilometers.

The Raju was a beautiful ship that reminded me of battleships from Earth. The turrets were missing, but just about everything else was the same. The metal plates and shape were nearly exact. I had a feeling that it might have originally been a water vessel.

The sound of footsteps above me pulled my attention. I spotted the princess and her guards walking the deck of the ship. I slid behind a few crates and considered my options. There were a few ways to go about this, but I’d like for the situation to be favorable. As I watched, the princess leaned against the railing.

A grin washed over my face as I concentrated on the railing with my dungeon aura. A few seconds later, the bars snapped and she started to fall toward the gap between the ship and the dock. It might be a bit clique but whatever. I jumped from behind the crates as if I had just seen the falling girl and managed to grab her hand before she fell too far.

I pulled her up as her guards leapt down from the deck of the ship and assisted. “Are you unharmed, my lady?” I asked once she was back up on the dock.

“No. I am well. Thank you.”

I backed away like a servant would and bowed my head. I found that I disliked this part of the plan most. Why should I bow my head to anyone? I mentally coughed to clear my thoughts and returned to the moment. Think of the prize. The guards made a fuss over her for several long moments before they determined that she was in fact fine.

“If the princess is well, I must return to my duties.”

The princess held out her hand. “Wait! I would not be able to call myself royalty if I did nothing for my savior. Please come to the palace tomorrow.”

“That is really not necessary, but since it would be far ruder for me to refuse, I shall present myself at that time.”

“Very good. Tsuzuki! Make sure the railing of every ship in the fleet is checked.”

“I shall your highness,” the old man replied without a pause.

I kept my head bowed until they left. Once I was sure they were gone, I moved to a nearby alley to teleport back to the dungeon. I found a gnome that appeared to be taking a break. My irritation about having to bow my head returned and I walked right in front of the gnome. He looked up in surprise and I grinned before I thrust my arm through his chest. “Blame her princess.” I pulled his heart out and dropped it in his hands as the last of his life left him.

Feeling a tab bit better, my dungeon absorbed the body. With a thought, this avatar faded into smoke and all that remained of the event was a few drops of blood on the wooden pathway.
