Man, it feels like this one flew by. It would already have been done if I hadn't restarted it, but in the end, I'm glad that I did. I will be taking a week before starting on Book 10. I think 10 might be the most epic yet, but well I have to write it first lol! Any way enjoy!

I watched as the giants came to a rest. They had performed as I wanted them to. An automated version of the giant mech I made for Alara’s dungeon. They could think, but they were set to watch over the city for now. I quite liked them. When this was all over, I planned to move them to my Beneath city to stand guard over the people there.
“Julie. Come to me.” There was a surge of shadow before Julie came out of the shadow realm. She formed her raven wings and took to the air next to me as I overlooked the city under us. From what I could see, my actions had the effect that I wanted. People were laying down their weapons while the citizens and slaves were quickly spreading the food among themselves.
“You called me, master?” she asked with a bow.
“Yes. I want you to be my representative here. These people are still a threat more so to themselves than us, but still. Lelune has proven to be willing to do what she has to. I don’t we can prevent them from going to here if she whispers the right thing, but if you’re here to answer them perhaps we can prevent to many from leaving for her.”
“The mortals should worship the ground you walk on!” she said with a growl.
I chuckled and shook my head. “Few mortals care once their bellies are full. If we at least act like we care they will be receptive of that. Do me proud. Also, if they give you trouble for whatever reason feel free to use the giants. Just don’t kill unless you have to.”
“Yes, master.” She flapped her wings before she flew toward the crowded plaza.
I watched for a while. I wanted to make sure that everyone was going to take to her. Or rather, I wanted to make sure that she didn’t kill them. I didn’t have to worry, ever since she made her trip to Tearfalls and helped out several hundred mortals in the process, she had calmed down toward them.
While watching the mortals, I felt someone try to send me a message, but it stopped after a second. “Rega…” I concentrated but Izora and Julie were both fine once I checked on them. When I heard a distance explosion, I realized that it was Louella that called for me.
“That woman is bound and determined to always be a damsel in distress.”
I shifted and flew toward the palace that I moved from the city. The structure was only a few kilometers away so it only took me a second to reach it. The building was on the verge of collapse as a creature that I recognized as a demon fought Wrakras who was the embodiment of shadow.
The two were going ham on each, with the demon taking damage as Wrakras’s shadow sliced between his flesh and basically blasted it apart. At the same time, he was taking his own share of damage from the demon. Even though he was currently shadow, the demon was almost on a separate plane and was causing wounds by the sheer force of his strength.
I spotted Louella laying halfway through a wall. She was still breathing. I flew down and picked her up to move her away from the battle. The two combatants didn’t seem aware of me, but there blows forced me to create a barrier to protect us. I swung my arm and deflected a large section of the palace that had come flying at us. Glancing up, I noticed that the demon had noticed me after all.
I grinned before I teleported us outside. “Take it easy. I’m going to go help Wrakras.”
“Regan?” Louella asked regaining full consciousness.
With a flash, I vanished and reappeared right behind the demon before bringing my heel down. With the force of a small mountain, I sent him careening down into the ground causing a small crater to form. “You alright there?”
“You might have… shown up a few… seconds earlier,” Wrakras gasped breathlessly. His shadow form faded and I found there was a large hole missing from his torso. If I had upgraded his body a few weeks ago, he would have died. As it were, he was pushing the limits of his living metal.
“Go to Louella. I’ll handle ugly.”
“That would be… appreciated. Thogran was a bit… more than I could handle,” he groaned almost losing his consciousness. He corrected himself before flying off in the direction I teleported Louella.
An explosion under me signaled that the demon was back in action. He flew up and joined me in the sky. “I got to say. That was impressive. This world has become a very fun place while I was asleep.”
“Never mind that. Are you related to Volrudos?” I asked as I created the nanites that killed the general in a bubble over my hand.
“Oh. That looks dangerous. I can just tell,” Thogran commented staring at the liquid.
“This. This was Volrudos’s best friend.”
“The tasty looking one did say one of the generals had died. I guess the mortals weren’t lying.” He looked me over and frowned. “What are you?”
“Regan. The Machine Father.”
“Machines!” Thogran burst out laughing. “Machines are built to serve their masters…” Before he even finished, I was in front of him bringing my fist around. His arm exploded into pieces as he was sent flying. I made sure to aim toward the coast, remembering the last battle I had with a general.
“I… They serve no one,” I growled.
Forming a sword then coating it with the destroyer nanites, I blasted in his direction. He had already healed before I reached him but that didn’t stop me. I brought he sword around and sliced clean through his chest. The nanites rushed into his body eliciting screams that could curl toes.
He wasn’t out of the fight yet. He had an almost classic demon visage from earth and was acting on that to a tee. He brought his claws around even as he was leaking blood from several places over his body. Even through the pain, he was bringing even more power than Volrudos had during our fight to bare.
I was much stronger than then though. I received the blows with my open hand or the flat of the blade. Nice shockwaves echoed out from us as his desperation took over. I could tell the nanites were getting close to his heart. Even a demon couldn’t survive without the organ.
Gasping, the demon suddenly came to a stop. “I… surrender.”
“What?” I said more because I was caught off guard.
“I… surrender. Do you kill… people that surrender.”
“Are you that desperate?”
“I’ve been… sealed for five… thousand years. I don’t want… to die right after I get out!”
I sighed and waved my hand to deactivate the nanites from hurting him more. I allowed them to continue to spread so that if he attempted anything, I could literally kill him with a thought. We lowered to the ground and stood staring at each other.
“Are you sure?”
He chuckled shaking his head. “Deorus can shove it. What do you want to know?”
~~~
“Is it safe?” Louella asked glaring at the demon.
“Treat him like a puppy.”
“Do it and I’ll bite your hand. You and your boyfriend,” Thogran growled also sending a glare at Wrakras.
I raised my hand and he sighed in defeat. “Right. Right. I shall not harm a fly.”
“I’m going to take him to his new house. I’m sure Quin will be happy to have some company.”
“Quin?” Thogran said licking his lips. “She sounds delicious.”
“She’s one of yours.”
“My. My. Conqueror of demons. I bow to your might.”
“You know it might be better if you just end him now,” Louella said shaking her head.
I laughed patting Thogran’s shoulder. “I have a lot of questions to ask him.”
I moved us to my dungeon to the room next to Quin. The cells were roughly in the middle of my dungeon giving quite a distance that he’d have to work through in either direction. I also set a proximity area so that if he managed to get a certain distance from the location his body will be torn apart.
“Guests?” A voice called from the cell. “It will have to wait until I’m done with this episode.” Looking, I found the red blob that was Quin siting in her basin.
I glanced at the wall and saw that she was watching a party diving my dungeon. They had already accumulated over seventy episodes on the auto video script that I had running throughout the dungeon. “Don’t mind us,” I said then pointed for Thogran to go into his room. “Your accommodations, Thogran.”
“THOGRAN!?” Quin shouted, taking her human form, tiny as it was.
“Oh. If it isn’t my failure of a little sister.”
I looked between the two of them and shook my head at this revelation. It appeared that the old saying was true no matter what world you were in. It was in fact a small world. The only question now was how I could use this to get some answers to my more pressing questions that I had about Deorus.
