Azaria 2 - 3

Good Morning everyone! Wow. I was looking and the last time I posted for Azaria was in October! Even though it feels like just yesterday. The book released on Amazon and while there are some mixed reviews, is doing well enough.

A change that I made at the beckoning of my editor though I slightly regret it was that i lowered Azaria's age to 14. While that's fine for the most part, i forgot a few of the scenes in book 1 were very sexual in nature. So yeah, that kind of blew up a bit. ANYWAY! Here is the next chapter. I want to say i will update this a bit more regularly, but everytime i type those words it never seems to work out that way hahaha.

Chapter 3: Prison Break

Azaria

After trying all the keys and finding none of them worked, we were left without much options. If what Lance said was true, then my mother was in charge of this place. Now that I looked around, I realized that this looked like the basement back in our manor. I’d only been down there a few times since it was quite old and dangerous according to my dad.

“At least I can move. Can’t do shit though,” Lance complained flexing her arms. With the Scales gone, she was fully in her own form. While she still had a feminine form, parts of her body mainly along her arms and legs were covered in scales. At least her face wasn’t too extreme and still possessed at least a dangerous beauty. Even if her eyes contained some insanity.

“Even the abilities that effect your body?”

Lance concentrated for a moment, but nothing happened. She shook her head with a disappointed look. It had to be the collar around her neck. I knew a year had passed since I technically died. It figured that the people in charge would find a way to control those with powers.

“We’ll just have to do this the old-fashioned way and hope that I can removed this later,” Lance said with a shrug.

“Understood.” I jumped down and moved over to peer out through the bars. Much like I remembered there was only a single path that led up. The guard was sitting in a chair directly in the middle of the hall. It would be impossible to sneak past him. I moved back with a dejected stance. “It will be hard to get past the man. It also looks like there is only one way out.”

“If I was a bit small I could fit through the window,” Lance said with a grimace looking at the slot that was letting moonlight into the cell.

“I’ll distract him. You take him out from behind.”

Lance reached down and picked me up. “Are you sure?” She asked and I tilted my head not getting the reason for the question. “I mean. I’m sure that guys works for your mom and pops. If what I’ve guessed is true, then your parents are pretty powerful in the city. They might be able to help you.”

I stared at her for a long moment. I still wasn’t sure how I felt about the mess that I was in. It had been just over a month after all. Everyone wanted to kill me or at least the creatures that I created for things that were apparently valuable. Not only that, but I could create things with little more than a thought.

My parents were good people before the apocalypse. I was sure that was still true, but… They had basically decided my life for me before the end. If that happened again, I wasn’t sure I would be able to do anything about it. I worried they might decide that I was just some sort of imitation that was copying their daughter.

No. For now, I needed to gain my own strength. I may never be their equal, but I wanted the power to at least decide my life for myself. I was just glad they were in fact alive. Plus, I knew they weren’t the only ones with strength in the city to decide my fate whether I had a say or not. This Neo had proven that I was nothing more than a beneficial plot of land that could be bought and sold.

Finally, I shook my head and patted Lance’s clawed thumb. “Don’t worry about it. We both need more strength to control our own fates. Something inside me is telling me I will need your help somewhere down the road.”

“If you’re sure, then I won’t say anything else.”

Lance moved us next to the cell door, and quickly tried all the keys. Lucky one of them was to the door and it looked like her base physical abilities weren’t being suppressed. No human could move like that, I was sure of it.

She placed me down and I saluted her before running down the passage with her following at a slower pace to hide her presence. The guard was facing the wall with his nose in his manga and she would be able to get about half of the way to him before he became aware. I had to be in place before then.

The doll moved without any hinderance. With DJ Ria’s powers helping to amplify the doll, it could move at quite the speed. I managed to get under the chair and glanced back to see Lance giving me the thumbs up. With a nod, I jumped up and landed right in the man’s lap.

“What the fuck!?”

“Boo!” I jumped again and smacked him in the face. The dolls arms and legs were just long enough to latch on to his ears and under his chin. He freaked out but his yell was mostly muffled by the doll’s body. There was a large impact that sent up end over end as Lance slammed into the back of the man. I managed to release him just as his head slammed pretty heavily into the wall.

Lance knelt to make sure he was out before searching him. “Damn! I was hoping the key was on him.”

“Never mind that! Let’s go!” I jumped and she caught me, placing me on her shoulder.

We ran to the end of the hall where a spiral staircase led to the next floor. The electric lights flickered, some of them needing new blubs. It really added to the mood. Finally, we reached the top of the stairs, and Lance peeked through the slot in the door to try and see the situation.

“It’s no good. I can barely make out a few meters.”

“Here let me,” I crawled up her arm and stuck my head through the slot. The large entrance to the servant’s area of the manor that I remembered like it was yesterday met my gaze. Everything was almost exactly the same except for some plants that I had never seen before. They clearly weren’t originally part of Earth’s ecosystem.

Other than the extreme case of nostalgia, there were no people around. Not even a guard or two to watch the dungeon doors. As I was now a dungeon core, this somehow upset me, but I pushed it down. I pulled back and tapped Lance. “We’re good to go. We’re near the servant’s area. It will be easier to go out the back then to try and go through the front.”

“You know where we are?”

“Yeah. I was pretty sure after you told me it was the Highlocks that captured you. We’re in…” the doll suddenly stopped talking though there was a lot of groaning. I ground my teeth as even like this I couldn’t tell Lance anything about my former life. Eventually, I had to just sigh. “Sorry, looks like I still can’t tell you anything.”

“That’s a weird issue to have, but whatever. Let’s get out of here.”

Lance pushed the door open and we rushed down the hall then took a left. A solid looking door was at the end of the new hall and Lance charged like her life depended on it. The door started to open just as we were about two meters from it and a elderly man came in with a common butler’s garb.

“Sorry old man!” Lance said just before he punched him square in the gut. She had managed to cup her hand enough that he only had minor cuts from her claws instead of full-blown gashes. As she jumped over the man, I looked back feeling like I should recognize the old man, but failing to come up with a name.

“Take a left and you’ll get to the hedge garden! From there you can just go straight through to reach the outer wall,” I explained quickly.

“Got it!” she did as I said and took off running.

A few minutes later and a lot of leaves in her hair, Lance managed to reach the wall. She tossed me up and I latched onto the top of the wall. When I felt the coast was clear, I whistle, something I was surprised a doll could do. She quickly leapt straight up and managed to clear the wall in one bound.

I hopped down and landed on her shoulder. We took off heading for the city, but given her appearance, she was bound to cause more than a little commotion if anyone saw her. “Where are you going to go?”

“They took all my shit, and I can’t access my subdimension. Luckily, I have a debt I need to repay and they already play on the other side of the law.”

“They?”
