Dungeon Annihilation 3 - 3

Good evening everyone! Posting from my phone.

Regan
Looking over the floating city of Jade Wind, I felt a mild disappointment that no one had noticed us yet. It had been over a week and my aura encompassed half the city already. If it wasn’t for the fact that I was splitting all the mana I was gaining from this place between the four cores, I could have already hit tier three on my main core. That said, it was on the brink.
“I rather enjoy the air here, don’t you Julie?” I commented taking a deep breath of the salt filled breeze. Jade Wind sat close to two thousand meters over the ocean which cleared the air some, but the salt tinge was still there.
She was currently sitting in the center of the platform with the sub-core floating above her. “I prefer the air back in my lord’s main dungeon.” I found out shortly after her stay started that she was terrified of heights. I gave her a grin before shaking my head.
I had learned a lot during the two weeks since the necromancers placed my core here. For example, the flight core that operated in the marquis’ airship was stripped down much further than I had expected. The ones that made up what the gnomes called their royal air force were nothing short of amazing. This also came with the realization that they didn’t know how to reproduce them as I only found four in the entire city.
One which held the city up was built for another purpose, but I hadn’t gained access to any historical records or information yet. I couldn’t know the purpose of the device, only that the central tower was indeed a ship at one point. The only conclusion I could come up with from conjecture was that something forced the gnomes to flee in the past and they improvised.
“I still can’t believe no one can see us up here,” Wrakras noted from beside me as he looked out over the city.
I just shrugged. It didn’t surprise me in the least. “People have a tendency not to look up. Not to mention in a place like this that they believe impenetrably.”
“I suppose you’re right. I remember not looking above me often when I was comfortable in a town.”
“Exactly the same. But even if they did look up, they couldn’t see through the illusion I placed over the top of the tower. The only person that might be able to see us, is someone that could physically see mana and even then, they would have to be able to decipher the multiple mana flows that are rippling around the tower.”
“You’re amazing, my lord!” Julie called but didn’t move from her spot.
I ignored her and pulled up all the information that I had gained just from spreading my aura through the city. My dungeon mind allowed me to visualize information however I desired, and for this I was having them appear as pages on a screen. Once quantified, the page count came close to seven thousand and that number was still growing.
While much of it was repetitive, due to the way my current magic was absorbing the information, I doubted the number would go down much even after it was sorted. The gnomes… were just that advanced. Or to be more precise, they had been that advanced. They had fallen into a period were knowledge was constantly being lost as masters died over the centuries. Experts back on Earth thought that was close to happening to the human race as machines took over the world’s agriculture and infrastructure. Not that they ever got a chance to find out.
“Something humorous, Master?” Wrakras asked.
“Yes, but I don’t feel like explaining.”
Dismissing the lists of information, I tapped my chin as I thought about what I should do. I really needed to create some help. Minds that would be capable of processing this data. I could do it myself, but that would take weeks if not months if the repetitive data was less than I expected. Needless to say, I had other matters I wanted to attend to.
“I’m heading back to my main core for a while. Keep up the watch. You know how to call for me if something happens.”
With a thought, I reappeared back in my core room at the top of my tower in the valley. The adventurers were starting to pour into the Envy workshops and I felt it would be time to expand soon. I only had sloth and gluttony to work with before I would need to switch to a new theme. Since only lust was between the adventurers, I would need to do that soon.
“Master.”
“Set. What is it?”
“Several of the adventurers are getting close to the entrance of the Garden. I fear not having more layers between us.”
“Fear doesn’t suit you, unless you’re the one causing it. I have plenty of mana, I take care of it today.
Not able to think of a way to spin sloth to my advantage, I just focused on the inhabitants of the new floor being aggressive to anyone that disturbs their sleep. I needed up with another fog covered city much like the Gothic city of Wrath’s. It still spanned a space of almost twice that of the Gothic City.
I pointed to the center of the newly formed city and imagined the new boss to watch over this place. I pulled all the magic engrams and constructs that I had learned from all the things I’ve killed up to this point. Even I wasn’t completely sure what I would ultimately create.
The magic circle formed and grew to the size of a building. Like I told Set, I had plenty of mana so I allowed it to pour into the circle. When it reached what would quantify to about five hundred thousand points of mana, it finally died down. I waved my hand as there was a considerable amount of smoke and walked toward the center of the circle.
“Where is the boss?” I asked out loud when I didn’t see anything.
“There, master,” Set replied pointing to the ground.
Sleeping without a care in the world was a small girl that looked barely eleven or twelve. She had large wolf ears, and a horn in the center of her head. Electric silver hair ran down her back and fanned out around her. She wore a pair of pajamas of all things, but I could tell from just looking at them that they could take a tank shell with ease.
I reached down and tapped her face. “Hey. Sloth. Wake up.”
In a motion that I only barely managed to dodge, she whipped out a pistol and fire where my head had been. The building that had been directly behind me was vaporized from the following explosion. The girl simply rolled over and continued to sleep without missing a beat.
“Mast… master! She is tier three and fairly advanced at that. It would be hard for us to subdue her.”
“I noticed,” I said with a grimace. I waved my hand and teleported the girl to the boss location. Since I was able to do so, it meant she was loyal to the dungeon. The attack must have been a reflex. I chuckled as I thought about the adventurers when they tried to get through this floor. Stretching I turned to Set. “What do you think would happen if I installed alarms that rang constantly until the adventurers were dealt with?”
“No one would likely get past this floor.”
“Good point. Let’s make some similar creatures for the rest of the floor. I’ll try to make them a little older this time.”
I focused on creating something similar to Sloth, but the three times I tried to make them older, the magic backfired. I managed to get them looking slightly older than preteen, but just barely. I imagine it would be hard for anyone challenging this floor. Deciding to just call it a psychological attack, I waved it off.
I washed my hands of the floor and moved up the next section. This was one I could spin in a way that would suit me. I pulled up a blueprint of the oni and began modifying them. I would need most of the ones I was creating here to be of the scientist variety thus I added cybernetic devices that would allow them greater access to information. Creating just a base, I would allow the Cyber-oni to decide for themselves what they wanted. With my new creations being infused with a gluttony for information, they would seek more of the answers of the world.
These five floors would be another city, only this time I aimed for a futuristic theme. It turned out quite nice once I was done. Neo lights, holograms, metal and concrete. The inhabitants would customize it themselves, but that would take time. I was excited to see what they did with the place.
A few hours and close to a million mana later, the first batch of cyber-oni along with their city were created. I selected a few and pumped an extra couple thousand mana into them to increase their capabilities. They would be a team and fight as the boss for this floor, at the same time, they would be going over the information I collect out in the world.
Looking around I decided to call this floor Neon City. “Citizens of Neon City. Welcome to life.”
