Dungeon Annihilation 20

Hey Everyone! Sorry if it feels like I'm pushing this one out a bit forcefully. I really like writing on it. Plus, I'm trying to get the first book done by the 1st of July! fun fun!

Regan

I officially loved nature. Normally, the storm raging outside would be destructive which I was all for, but right now it was feeding my dungeon with endless energy. The tower was being struck faster than even my dungeon could keep up. I had already reached tier one level nine and was close to breaking through to tier two.

I had placed all my goblins at the entrance to keep the annoying adventurers out while I channeled the tremendous amount of energy flowing through the dungeon. I was converting as much of the electricity to mana as I could but there was just so much of it. I had turned the lake at the top of the tower into an electrical storage for the moment but adding electrodes that converted the water into chemical energy storage.

“You’re telling me that people have to have a revelation to reach the next tier?” I asked Set as I concentrated on my core absorbing the mana.

Surprisingly, Set was unaffected by the lightning mana that was bouncing around the lake my core sat at the bottom of. She didn’t need to breath either. I suppose being a construct of mana and energy had its benefits.

“Yes. A mortal can absorb all the mana they want but unless they realize one of the universe’s truths about their element nothing will change. In some cases mortals have tried to force the change and caused their bodies to explode.”

“Splatter fest. I don’t suppose I have the same issue?” I asked. I don’t exactly want to see my core shatter into a thousand pieces. Set assured me I could come back from the smallest of shards, but it required a certain amount of time depending on the trauma of the damage. I could unconscious for centuries before I returned.

“No. Dungeon core will move to the next level and tier automatically once they have absorbed enough mana into their core. You only have to do what you have done so far.”

“Excellent!” I laughed then poured the mana around my core coating the edges. My core was a black shard of crystal with pulsating energy around it from the excess of mana and energy. Liquid flowed out from the existing crystal adding layers as it grew bigger. Getting an idea, I generator a hypersonic sound at the very tip of the crystal.

There was a tinge of pain, as if someone just stab me with a needle, but the liquid crystal separated from the mass and fell to the floor. The mass continued its process of generating more crystal solution to replace the missing drop. Not wanting to miss out on the chance, I repeated this process three more times before the mass of liquid crystal solidified.

The four drops of liquid crystal laid inert on the ground, but I could feel a connection to them. I absorbed one of the drops and grinned when I found I could replicate the material. The grin was chased away by a frown, when I found how much mana it cost to create them. I could certainly afford it, but my tanks would be completely empty.

As I absorbed the droplet, I could bring it out of my sub dimension without any cost. I would need to see about creating another dungeon elsewhere to increase my mana gain. There were a lot of things I would need to consult with Set later.

Speak of the devil, she reached out to me. “Master.”

“Yes, Set?” I asked looking up from my work.

“A small army approaches,” she replied. I sent out my senses and saw she was quite right. I also saw that my storm had overtaken the valley and was only being contained by the mountain walls that surrounded it.

“I suppose I should go handle it,” I said with a sigh. The storm was still generating a decent amount of mana. I would like to keep it going for another few days. But if they called for one of these tier four people, I could be risking my own life for a short term gain.

I created my avatar. I realized there wasn’t a sense of limitation as before. I went with the shadow monster form as I liked to use it when dealing as the host. Appearing on the first floor, I walked outside to find the nearly seventy plus adventurers that looked like drowned rates. They had formed a line and looked ready to charge at any moment.

“Who speaks for you?” I called to the gathered people. Speaking out loud, I realized just how terrifying this form’s voice was. I was sure a few of these people would be having nightmares for a while.

The baroness walked forward. I looked her over and saw that she had jumped considerably in strength since the last time she was in my dungeon. I didn’t have to wonder how she’d managed it for long, as a lightning bolt arced towards her from the storm. She held out her hand and placed her other on the ground and allowed it to flow through her body.

Her hands slightly smoking, she stood back up and finished walking up to me. “I speak for the town. Host. Your storm is reaching dangerous levels. Stop whatever your doing or we’ll be forced to call in much more powerful forces to stop the spread of destruction.”

I leaned forward and put my featureless face right in front of hers. My form was nearly a meter taller than her after all. I held her gaze for close to a minute. “Okay. For a platinum coin.” I stood up and moved back to the dungeon.

“Wait, what?” the baroness asked noticeably confused.

I turned back to her. “I said okay. The storm has served its purpose. I will take care of it for one platinum coin.”

A well dressed and noticeable dry woman that radiated power tossed a coin towards the dungeon. Several people followed it with their eyes and gulped as it landed next to the tower. I absorbed confirming it was real then nodded towards her.

All the adventurers looked to one another with bewildered expressions. I snickered at the looks. They likely thought given my appearance that I would refuse, and they would have to fight me. However, I saw no reason to fight them or fight to keep the storm going as strongly as it was. I mentally adjusted the absorption taking place at so that the storm would only cover a few kilometers around the tower.

I paused when I found that my aura which used to only cover a kilometer around the tower, had increased to close to ten. I could build a small city in that space. I filed that away for the time and kept walking. By the time I reached the entrance, the storm had already noticeably weakened.

Turning back to the gathered adventurers, I bowed before I stepped back through the darkness filled portal. My avatar broke up around me as I released it. I felt like that was the nest solution all things considered.

If I was your regular evil overlord, I might have killed them all and drawn unwanted attention from parties that I wasn’t ready to deal with. I would rather be seen as reasonable. That would get people looking for power to come to me and I could grow my forces and connections until I was ready. I was alive on Earth for sixty-two years.

I managed what I did in forty before I was trapped. I had an untold amount of time in this one. I could be patient. According to Set, I could potentially live forever. I would need to talk to Destruction again before I finished her goal. I was only suicidal when the entire world was against me.

I was on the fifteenth floor. With my excess mana, I was working on filling my floors up. The greed mines were performing well. The Rakshasa were working almost around the clock. They seemed unable to control their desire for more of their preferred metal. The first one that I created in the gold ore section had turned most of his body to the metal already.

Since I was going to start work on the next section, I decided it was time for me to create a boss for the mines. I moved over to the top floor. I decided to do a fresh creation rather than pull over one of the already established Rakshasa. I wanted to see how strong I could get the creature.

I created the summoning circle for the Rakshasa with greed in mind. Focusing on creating a boss, the circle grew to nearly ten-meter radius. I threw in my gunpowder as well. I wasn’t sure if it would help or hinder the creation, but I was willing to take the chance.

Mana flowed like water from the surroundings. Random metals were pulled from my sub dimension to build the body. It was still flesh and blood only with layers of metal coating everything. Gold and my newest material platinum alloyed forming a golden silver skin that covered the creature’s body. I recognized that alloy as I used it for the electronics in many of my robotics on Earth. It was basically a metal version of diamond. Four wings made from various metal extended from the back with a gem embedded in the joints.

The magic circle completed with a final wave of mana. The creature standing in front of me would likely make mortals drool. Though I wasn’t sure if it would be in lust or greed. The woman reminded me of a statue carved specifically to drive people mad. She was a cross between an elf and a demon with two large horns extending from her head. A smaller circle formed next to her and a six barreled minigun formed in her hand.

“Greed. Welcome to life,” I said.

She bowed to me. “Master.”

“Would you… would you like some cloths?” I asked.

“And hide the perfection that you created? Never.”

She moved over and some gold ore next to her melted then solidified into a chair. She sat down crossing her legs like she owned the place. There was an affect on the nearby Rakshasa as they started bringing her some of the ore they were digging up, over to her. I judged her tier to be just in tier two.

“What do you think, Set?” I asked my fairy.

“I think she is beautiful. I find myself wanting to touch her, master,” Set said her hand already stretching out towards her.

“If one created by the creator wants then I will allow it,” Greed said with a out held hand. Set flew forward and placed her hand in Greed’s. I could almost see something overcoming Set. I placed my hand on Set’s head and washed away the magic. She blinked and flew away from Greed. Greed flashed a grinned and shrugged. “Maybe later then.”

“Greed. Let’s not enchant our own people shall we,” I said.

She sulked biting her lower lip with her canine. “As you command, master.”
