Dungeon Annihilation 14

Good Morning! Well it was a rough and felt like it was never going to end week but I'm finally free. Sorry to leave you guys hanging since Monday. I should be good to go now!

Regan

“That was fun. Not sure if anything will come of it but at least she had a troubled face,” I said as I watched the lady from the night before leaving with her little party. I’d saw them come in just before the first wave of adventurers for the day and was subtly impressed with their teamwork. That just made me want to mess with her all the more.

“Do you really intend to give her power or whatever else if she does ask for it?” Set inquired from next to me.

“Sure. Just with some strings attached. Though I’d have to figure out how to give her power as I’d assumed that she wouldn’t want to be bound to the dungeon with a contract like Hedo. And I haven’t played with this Binding spell yet. Not sure she’d like to become a monster,” I said mentally rubbing my chin.

“That is true. Mortals do tend to cling to their forms as much as possible. We of the dungeon are almost constantly changing,” Set replied with a nod.

“Her loss. What I wouldn’t have given to adapt my human body to machine back in my last world. Though, I think this might be the best form I could have taken. I get to try out quite a lot of things now.”

“I am pleased that you are happy, master. I wouldn’t exist without you after all.”

“Speaking of.” I moved us down and checked on the tunnel that Zombie was digging. She’d had to hollow out a small cavern under the first floor to accommodate the undead goblins I’d given her to work with. They were making moderate headway in their digging but from what I saw of the mountain, we're barely scratching the surface.

The issue, however, was that they weren’t bringing up a lot of metals for me to use around the dungeon with supplementing it with mana. A few weeks ago, I dreaded the idea of making a section of my dungeon into a mine, but as time goes on, I found that I might have little choice. Set also liked to remind me it was a nice draw for adventurers.

“They have slowed down due to the time it takes to haul the material back to your aura,” Set said as we looked over the zombies bringing sacks of stone and a few raw ores as well. It was very inefficient, and I decided to raise it on my list of priorities to work on.

“I suppose you win. I’ll make a mine,” I said with an exaggerated sigh.

“Forgive me, master. I never meant to cause you trouble,” she said bowing her head, though her voice was level as always. Now that I thought about it. I wasn’t sure I had ever heard her raise her voice. “Does that mean you are creating a boss for the tenth floor?”

“Oh yeah. I’d forgotten about that.” I laughed then moved us up to the tenth floor.

A building much like a ruined church sat at the center of the city. I had played with the idea of having effigies of the Goddess Lelune, as that seemed to be the only goddess in this area, being defaced but Set told me off. That had made me angry, but she reminded me that there were plenty of people in this world that could wipe my dungeon out with a wave of their hand. Thus, I put it on hold for now.

Stairs were getting annoying to design the floors around. Thus, in my free time, I had worked on creating a spell version of my ability to move things around the dungeon. A few… mishaps later, I finally had a working teleporter.

To make it clear when it was being used, I added some effects similar to an old Earth show called Star Trek. The first remake, not the third or fourth. Things just got weird in those. At least it had occupied about two months’ worth of my time while stuck in that tower. Looking back to the present, I placed a medieval-looking version of the magical device in the back.

Thinking about it for a second, I added a similar one in a building after Pride then one on the first floor. People that earned the boss’s token would be able to use it. I made sure to only have the boss have one of the tokens at a time. Make people have to work together or, well, get creative with it.

With the minor details taken care of, I looked to the floor and what boss I should create. I used Pride on the first floor. If I stuck with the seven sins, then that left me six choices. I couldn’t remember how the order went but I knew Pride wasn’t the first. So, it didn’t matter what came next, to be honest.

I debated for several minutes before deciding to go with Wrath. I would have loved to give the boss a machine gun or rocket launcher to fit its name, but I didn’t have the chemicals needed for creating those. Even the Hunter’s guns worked with air magic. I was depressed when I saw that. That should be fixed once or if Hedo comes back.

Calling in a Hunter from the floor, I had him stand in the center of the floor. Mentally rubbing my hands, I started the magic for turning him into a boss. Primarily shadow and fire mana flowed into him with a bit of the other aspects making their presence known. I focused on having him having uncontrollable rage when he was hurt to a certain point.

The white coat dyed black and red and the goblin hunter gained roughly half a meter in height making it the tallest monster in the dungeon. Its bone sword gained about two hand-spans in width and gained a meter in length. One side was smooth with a wicked sharp edge, while the other side had jagged teeth for tearing.

In the middle of the process, I felt some mana from outside working its way into the spell. Focusing on it, I noticed it was attempting to alter the goblin aspects of the creature. I narrowed my eyes at the instance. I didn’t like others playing with my toys. As the spell was nearly complete, I couldn’t do anything about it, this time at least.

The transformation finished and my new boss monster stood in front of me. “You are Wrath from today forward. Let all who challenge you, know your anger.” There was a draft of air as Wrath pulled in a breath before he roared loud enough to shake the tower. Glancing through the floors, a few people panicked and almost lost their lives. I chuckled. “Exactly!”

“Excellent monster, master,” Set said with one of her bows.

“Glad you like him.” I turned back to Wrath. “This is your home now. You don’t have to wander the floor as I don’t think many people can handle you without a lot of preparation.”

Wrath gave me a grunt then moved to the back of the room. He leveled his sword then swung causing the altar to crumble to pieces. He swung a few more times, each time reducing it further to rubble. With a nod, he moved over to a pew and leaned his sword next to it before he laid down.

“Nice,” I commented before leaving the floor and heading back up to the eleventh floor. When we arrived I turned to Set, “Do you know anything about the goblin race?”

“Monsters twisted by their original God.”

“Interesting. I wonder if that is what I felt. I’ll need to look into it further. For now, back to work.”

“Master is building a mine. I know it won’t be normal and I can’t wait to see it.”

Talk about pressure, but you have to deliver when a lady asks. Pulling material from the backlog Zombie had created in via my subdimension, I raised the tower up another five floors. Even though the mine would be on the floors that already existed, I wanted to keep a gap going. I thought about how I wanted to go about creating the mine. I could go with the tried and true for of caves that have ore veins, but I felt that was weak.

I thought through all the movies and books I read back on Earth but none of those really helped. As you could figure, mines were straightforward. If I could, I would just roll some dice and let those decide. Like a lightbulb, an idea came to me.

It would work out nicely since the walls were curved too. With a deep mental breath, I concentrated on the floor around me and created a completely flat plane. I did these five more times to create a cube for the floor. I would worry about the details later.

Next came the hard part. I concentrated on the gravity in the room. This was probably only possible as I had near-complete control over everything in my dungeon. I changed the direction of the pulling force to the planes I’d made. That way people on the ceiling would be upside down and still able to walk on the area there.

“Set can you fly around the floor so we can test to make sure everything works right.”

“Yes. Master.”

Set flew from where the teleporter was and started making her way around the floor. She started to fly towards the right wall. When she was about halfway there, she turned back to me. “This is strange, I feel like I am free-falling but am not moving at all.” The sound of her voice got slightly twisted but still managed to reach me from her place. She kept going until she reached the next ‘floor’ of the cube.

“How is it? Any discomfort?” I asked moving next to her. I thought I had it calibrated right to match the gravity of this planet but wanted to be sure. While it would be fun to watch people wander into a spot on the floor then be crushed to a paste. I decided to save that for later on in the dungeon.

“I feel fine. It’s like I’m outside.”

“Good.”

With that taken care of, I moved on to the next step. Thanks to the curves of the walls compared to the flat plane, I could create surface mines. I had never used the create resource spell that came with the knowledge Destruction gave me so it would be a bit of trial and error for the first few times.

I moved to the first plane. I already knew what the boss for this section was going to be, so I didn’t hold back. I made seventy percent of the mine gold ore or rather Petzite. A mixture of silver, mercury, and copper. From there I added all the ore that Zombie had managed to bring up throughout the planes of the floor.

When I was done, any light shined in the area would reflect dozens of times. The light and Set flying gave me an idea to stop any would-be flyers on the floor. I moved to the center of the floor then using what I’d learned from playing with the gravity and my teleporting, I created a simple black sphere.

If anything got within a few hundred meters of the sphere they would be pulled into it and crushed. As this floor was to serve the purpose of me gathering ore for creating stuff down the road. I added invisible pillars in various spots around the floor on the planes, that would cause whatever placed in them would be sucked into the sphere.

“It is beautiful, master,” Set said. I looked over expecting to see her looking at the shiny metals but found her staring at the giant sphere of darkness.

“Well, its sort, not really, a black hole. Anything pulled into that baby will be crushed to a pea then dropped to the ground where the dungeon will absorb what remains.”

She never took her eyes off the spell as I explained it. In fact, I think she only grew even more armored with it. “Amazing. You have such a fascinating mind, master.”

I laughed that may have shifted toward insane had anyone from Earth heard me. “Oh… This is only the beginning.”

“I look forward to seeing the world you create,” Set said with a bow.

I nodded then turned back to the floor. Now that the stage was set, I needed to create the actors. Thus, it was time to summon some monsters. I had plenty of designs from back on Earth for mining, but I still wanted to hold off on using robotics. I technically destroyed Earth with my machines, and it wasn’t fun doing things the same way twice.

Thinking over the list, I remembered the Rakshasa. If I remembered correctly, they played a part in Hindu mythology. I wasn’t sure what form they would take here but given my mana surplus, I felt I was in a good enough place to experiment. If they couldn’t serve my purposes, then I would switch back to Goblins or finally automata.

Moving to a clear spot on the first floor, I began the summoning spell. I focused on loyalty to me of course, but also on the greed of people. That was what I wanted the theme of this floor to be. After that, I made sure it could actually mine for me. It would be pointless otherwise.

A giant wolf formed in front of me. The energy flowing from me didn’t stop until it was close to five meters long. Just from the fangs and claws, I felt it already outclassed most of the adventurers that were diving the dungeon. I was disappointed that it was just an exaggerated animal. Though that sounded similar to what I recalled about them.

When the spell finished the wolf looked at me then there was a loud crack. It was soon followed by several more each sounding more painful than the last. After about ten seconds, the wolf took a half humanoid half-beast form. It reminded me of a werewolf from Earth.

“Your greed is very tasteful, master. You nearly overwhelm me just being in your presence,” the rakshasa said placing his hand on the ground as he kneeled in front of me.

“I am indeed very greedy,” I said with a chuckle. “Judging from your claws you should have no problem digging the ore from the ground.”

“Correct.” He got up and moved over to a vein of gold ore. With a few quick swipes, a chunk of gold came away from the ground. He took a bite out of it then handed it to me. “I have a flesh and blood body, but I can sustain myself off the ore.” I watched as the essence from the ore flowed into his body. A few moments later his claws took a slight golden tint.

“You’re going to have a lot of people hunting you and your siblings.” I wasn’t concerned but I wanted to know how he would feel about it. Since he could talk to me that meant he had a sort of consciousness and dealing with beings that could eventually hate dying for the dungeon would become a headache down the line.

“Our deaths will only serve to grow the dungeon.”

Set grabbed her head as if in pain. “Do not worry, my master. Souls created in the dungeon stay in the dungeon. They are artificial until they absorb enough mana. Even then the dungeon serves as a localized reincarnation wheel.”

I narrowed my eyes but accepted the information. “Thank you, Destruction. Now leave my minion.”

“Don’t worry. I just… programmed her with a few ‘extra’ tidbits of information. Can’t have you changing your mind,” Set said before she fainted and fell from the air. I grabbed her with my mind then moved her to a spot out of the way.

I grinned then mentally rubbed my hands together. Time to capture some new mortals so I could create more minions. I needed to look into creating a sort of aura extender in the town. That would allow me to absorb mana constantly from the unsuspecting people. There were other methods I wanted to experiment with as well.

I mentally put a finger to my temple. “How do you make Opium again?”
