Sorcerer King 2

 Since you guys are enjoying this I will try to work on it once I upload all that I have, I plan on making this Saturday's upload from now on so that I have a bit more time to work on Dungeon Robotics. that means the quality should go up after a few more uploads as I have, in my opinion, improved a lot since I first wrote this.

~~~ Alasse Darkfeather   POV~~~~~~
I was running through the desert, cursing my bad luck. The bandits were following close behind, the ugly bastards. I had just stopped at the oasis to refill my water when these creeps came out from a sand ditch. My guess is they were lying in wait for someone just like little ole me to happen by. The first one managed to nick my leg with his blade and it was slowly getting numb.
I had ran as fast as I could but they knew I was poisoned so they were taking their time and were slowly gaining on me. I think they enjoyed the game. I was just about to turn around and make my pitiful last stand when the ground started to shake. Earthquakes were rare but I’ve felt a few over my short life, but I sensed that this was different, the mana in the air was throbbing like a heartbeat.
Suddenly a spire broke through the ground a ways away from me, followed by what looked like the tops of several buildings. The sand started draining away where I was standing and before I had a chance to jump clear, the brattice of a wall tower pushed up from under me making me lose my balance and I stumbled. Shortly afterwards several more broke through it seemed like there was one every hundred feet or so.
I suddenly found myself at least 15 meters in the air. I looked over to where the thugs had been following me but all I could see were their asses as they ran for their lives. I breathed a sigh of relief before remembering that I was sitting on top of a mysterious tower that had appeared in the middle of the desert. I didn’t have much choice in the matter though as the poison that had been slowly spreading through my veins finally overcame me and I passed out, my last thought was I hoped I didn’t get eaten.
~~~~~Oberon POV~~~~~

I walked over to the window and breathed in the fresh air which after I did realized was weird since I had no flesh or organs but decided to just roll with it. We were in a desert, there was literally no change as far as the eye could see. Once we were on the surface the mana flow greater intensified, mana was much more abundant now then it was a 1000 years ago, another thing to look into.

“Zriq, do you recognize the area?” I asked.

“Hmm, since its a desert it is either the Sins Desert or the Great Kuild Desert. I can’t be sure until we get more information.” he answered as best he could.

I nodded and pulled up the Fortress map, a new dot had shown up blinking orange, which if I remember meant intruder but not hostile. Now that all the stone surrounding us was gone I could have the golem actually do something since they weren’t trapped in the room they were in. I sent a mental command to them to meet me in the throne room, while one of them checked out the intruder and was confused for a moment when I actually got a reply, golems generally don’t have a consciousness.

We made our way back to the Throne room and I took my place on the throne. I sat there studying the mana in the air and how it was reacting to the various things in the room. I didn’t become the King of the World without knowing a thing or two, besides I was the King of Magicks first. I looked over to Zriq an idea forming.

“Hey Zriq, I want to do something for you but you need to sign a Loyalty Pack with me that includes your entire clan since I assume your going to summon them here soon.”

Zriq looked up at me shocked, I couldn’t blame him a Loyalty pack was a heavy thing to sign after all.

“Master you know Contract Magic?!” he asked in an awed voice.

“Well it's not my best form of magic but I certainly can use it.” I said matter of factly.

He thought for a moment then explained, “Master, Very... very few people can use contract magic nowadays. Besides Angels and Demons that is.”

It was my turn to be surprised, while not easy, Contract magic certainly wasn’t hard to learn. I suddenly had a worried thought, don’t tell me magic had regressed over the thousand years I was asleep. I certainly hoped that wasn’t the case.

“Anyway, I am already bound to you so I don’t mind signing this Loyalty pack for my clan.” Zriq said after a few minutes of thinking and pointed at the gem in my chest.

“Good,” I said with a nod.

I waved my hand and a blaze of characters flew over and arranged themselves in front of Zriq for him to read. After a few seconds he thrust his hand toward the bottom and there was a flash of light as the characters flowed into him.

“Now I don’t know if this will hurt but I am a hundred percent sure it won’t kill you so rest assured.” I waved my hand again and seemed to grab something in the air, I absorbed the mana in the strand and it finally broke. Zriq started to scream bloody murder as his body started to morph, bones popped, muscles realigned, and finally his skin changed to a deep blue. After a few minutes of laying on the ground he slowly stood up and examined himself. He was now about a meter and a half tall and looked like an elf with wings, his hair went down to the small of his back and was a deep black his skin was still red but he now pulled it off instead of looking like a goblin.

“Well, well, aren’t you the lady killer.” I said with a chuckle.

“My...My Lord what, how, what?” Zriq asked in confusion.

“Well of course if one can cast the curse, I can certainly break my own magic.”

Zriq looked at me dumbfounded for a moment before throwing his whole body on the ground, “I and my clan will serve you for all eternity! I swear on my soul.”

I waved my hand, “While I respect your loyalty, it’s not that big a deal as we will be working together for a very long time.” I said with a chuckle, considering I was undead and he was a fae.

Just then I sensed the golem nearing the room. They came in and awkwardly bowed to me. The were easily over three meters tall and made out of metal, rather than blucky stone and granite these were made from Steel and a lining of mithril for mana to circulate their bodies. I thought for a minute before just deciding to ask them how they came to be as a thousand years ago Golems, at least the ones I knew of couldn’t think on their own. I was surprised by their answer, which turns out they had to mentally transmit to me.

“We…plenty...at...first...Then...no...food...We...share remaining...food… finally… the Keepers… all that remain.” one of the Golems brokenly answered me. I thought it was amazing, they no longer were able to receive new mana to replenish and started to share amongst themselves to last even a little bit longer. I remembered when he said the title, Keeper was the Golem’s that protected the command node for the Golem network, without it they would turn into a pile of dust without complicated devices embedded inside the golem itself.

“Amazing! I am very proud of you. Do you have a name?”

“None Sire.”

Then I name you Khaar, your brother Grodro, and your other brother.” as I was about to name the third golem Khaar raised his hand slightly,” Yes?”

“Sister.”

“Sister?” I asked.

“Third says... she feels female.”

“O-ok. Then she shall be Vaunn then.”

“Thank you Master.”

I noticed that they seemed to getting more and more limber as the network received mana from the crystal and then they received it from the network. Just as I was about to ask some more questions the third Golem walked in, she looked exactly like the other two so how she felt female was a mystery to me. In her arms was a young girl probably around 16 or 17 and was lightly injured. I also sensed some type of curse on the girl but wasn’t sure what type as I had never seen it before, though after 1000 years I was sure plenty of people had come up with ways to make other people's lives miserable.

She had medium length black hair and was close to one and half meters tall. She was pretty skinny for her age which made me worried, and her face was very pretty though. She seemed suited to be a rogue or thief. I waved my hand healing the girl and poison in her.

This is why I became a mage, it so easy to change reality, if you were powerful enough. The girl started to stir so Vaunn put her down in case she panicked. She opened her eyes and looked around blankly for a few seconds. When her eyes landed on me, well to say she screamed would probably be an understatement, and then she fainted. This happened about 3 more times before it stopped being funny and I cast a simple calm spell on her so she wouldn’t faint again.

“Calm down already,” I said a little annoyed she found me so scary. I mean I’m a nice guy, right?

“What’s your name, girl?” I asked once she had calmed down enough

“Alasse,” she said with a tiny squeak.

“Why were you injured?”

“I was running, when I was ambushed at the oasis by some thugs. They ran away when they saw your castle rising,” she explained gaining strength after a moment.

“Running? What were you running from?”

She moved her hand to the right side of her back and pulled her shirt up, next to the small of her back was a tattoo, it was a phoenix circled by many runes and finally ending in a prefect geometric triangle. I felt the curse that I sensed earlier emitting from it.

“This is  a family curse, every person born in our bloodline is pulled into the curse. WE are treated worse than slaves and are chased away not matter where we go.”

“What did your family do to earn such a lofty punishment?” Oberon asked and if he still had eyes they would have widen in surprise.

“Our ancestor was “The World’s Curse””she answered scared again. Everytime she had ever told someone that their response ranged from fear to righteous anger. What she got this time almost made her fall down.

“HAHAHA,” I broke into laughter, and kept laughing for almost two minutes long, “Ah, Goddess Fate, you truly are amazing!”

“Sir?” Alessa asked nervously, she had never seen this reaction before and was almost more scared because of it. It didn’t help I was an undead, I was sure.

“My child! My dear poor abused child! Welcome to your sanctuary. I am Oberon DarkPhoenix, or as you know me The World’s Curse.”

The girl’s eyes got wide and … she passed out again. I looked over to Zriq,” too much?”

He looked at the girl for a second, “Probably.”
