Fun City Release Schedule Update

Friends! Colleagues! Fun Citizens! Mike here with an update on episode release schedule. Ep 43 is recorded and edited, but there's going to be a bit of a delay in its release because, uhhh, well - we just had a baby! “We” being me and Molly (I’m married to Artemis, in case that wasn't clear before now).

We’re very excited and everyone is happy and healthy. There’s gonna be a bit of a transition as we welcome our new roommate and I figure out how to, y’know… dad.

Mainline FC narrative games will pause for a sec BUT! the cool thing about babies is that there’s a pretty big run-up to get prepared. The rest of the cast has been hard at work prepping side games for the main feed and Bonus “Bone” Content “Cone” for those precious Patron earsockets and eyeholes.

Normally we take two or three release cycles off at the end of the year; we’ll aim for that to be the case this year but it may end up being four. When we return, it’ll be with 2 different side games, one run by Bijan and one by Jenn (running her first ever game!). I’ll be mixing the episodes, Sam Grant will continue editing, and will also be doing a little sound design. Our aim is to be back to the main FC narrative by the end of Q1 next year, but these games are gonna be super good; you’re gonna love ‘em and, just like Float City, will be sad to see them end.

Thank you so much to everyone who listens to and supports the show, and for rolling with our ever-changing schedules. We’ve said it before, but I think it bears repeating: the Content Ecosystem is a strange and difficult place. We feel extremely lucky to have a group of supporters who understand that our lives are much more than the Show We Make. And furthermore, that those lives inform and have a massive impact on the stories we tell, figuring into and often inspiring them directly. What I’m saying is: I look forward to asking Taylor to voice a baby.

Once I have a spare moment to sit in front of a microphone, I'm going to record an audio version of this update for eventual release on both the public and the patron feed, so no one misses it. I’ll still be around in the discord – though perhaps at weirder hours for a bit (apologies, Book Club) – in a chatty when I can make it (maybe (probably) while holding a lil bb), etc.

I’ll see you all around, and I cannot wait for y'all to hear what the cast has been working on, nor to return as soon as possible to Lash, Luxe, TK and Viv in NYC, 2102 (in NYC, 2023)
