June Update #2

Well another month down, how fast did that go! We have a few days left still and I still have more models to upload, one of them being the Darth/Luke diorama show above which I am just about finished with now and will be uploading this today. It will come in figure and non-figure versions so you can use the diorama for normal action figures too. It is scaled for 3.75" standard starwars figures

I did get pretty much most of what I wanted to complete this month out minus a few deluxe things that will come early in July, but we still have more stuff before the end of the month. I have finished the T800 Feet /shins assembly manuals so now I'm just gathering those parts all up and double checking them so those will go up tomorrow - so YES they will be out this month, they just take a long time to do (its one thing to model it and know how it's assembled, its another to turn that into an assembly manual and then explain to you all how it works! :) )

Thanks to everyone competing in the TMNT painting competition! We have a few entries already which is crazy (don't forget you still have an entire month to enter so please don't feel the need to rush)  If you have already entered and want to make more changes and re-enter that is also completely OK, so don't feel you are locked in if you have submitted your entries already)

Note - First prize may also be upgraded to a new Elegoo Mars 3 Pro! (instead of a mars 2) I have pre-ordered one and if it arrives in time, first place will receive that, looking at shipping dates this is very possible so this is why I am mentioning it )

Just a clarification on the rules, the only thing I didn't want added to the diorama was additional printed parts that are not part of the Diorama that others may not have access to  What IS ok?  LED's, LCDs, grass, slime, water, whatever is totally fine. Any sprucing up is totally  fine. Some people I have heard are even cutting the TV screen out and putting an LCD in there - again totally ok - any modification to the existing diorama is completely OK. The only rule is any 3d printed parts in the diorama must be part of THIS diorama and not from anywhere else. I would also suggest not using TMNT official  additonal figures like foot soldiers in your images, since everyone is printing at varying scales, it would not be terribly fair.

5000 member Goal  Update:
As we creep ever closer to this amazing goal I have sitting here, brand new in a box an Elegoo Saturn!  that will be awarded to a lucky patreon member.  Since we cannot randomly just give it away as a reward for reaching this goal or offer it to prospective new members for joining (as this would be against patreon guidelines)  We will just have a simple requirement , i.e you must be on full access (a 3 month + member)  and also a small survey you need to complete so we can gather a list of active members. Then, picked at random, one of those lucky people will be the recipient of the Elegoo Saturn (we also have other goodies to send out, that's just the big one)  Patreon are very strict on how we run any type of gift promotion so that's why there needs to be some requirements in place.

I don't think this will happen for months honestly, so if you are reading this now you most likely will be here and a full access member at the time, so even if you are a new member now you won't be then :) and will have a chance too. I will be drawing it live also (can't say the date yet obviously)  Essentially this is about giving back to you all. From what started very small we are now getting up there in the Patreon ranks and it's purely down to you all printing, being excited and showing the models we have here and I can't say thank you enough.  Everyone who is active on Instagram also thanks for all your tags, I see them all (i'm not a really big twitter person still)  but thanks,  its one of the first things I  look forward to in the morning, checking out all the cool prints people are pumping out!

I have lots planned for July! This month I wanted more substance so that's why we have a larger amount of dioramas and multi part prints. We do have a couple dioramas next month but I wanna also focus on a good bulk of easy prints and things you can print fast, and sell fast (and you know i'll always have a couple of grogu mashups thrown in there too)  Requests section on the member depot will also be live again in July (with new rules)  I just want to keep people excited about 3D printing really. I know what it's like printing as a job, I did it for several years and like any job it can have it's days but thats the beauty of what we do, each day can bring an entirely new print, a new printer, a new way of doing things, slicing things. I didn't think in 2010 tinkering with wooden box printers i'd be sitting here in 2021 with the options we have now, sure I knew it was gonna be a big industry but wow... and we're still only in it's infancy really. I really do think that even in 5 years time we will be seeing a huge advancement in the technology we've all become so reliant on. Faster printers, new materials, new ways of printing.

I also finally after some 10 years of putting it off, purchased a Prusa MKs3 and an  MMU2 coming so I can start also doing the odd multi-color options for models (depending on complexity of course) My creality Belt printer is still giving me some headaches as far as the slicing goes so I don't have any big long printmill prints ready yet but as soon as I do, you will too!

Anyway, still lots to do for me this month so I'll leave you with that wall of text to digest and i'll get back to getting this diorama uploaded!

As you may have heard we are again in lockdown for Covid, anyone else here in Australia in lockdown at the moment, hopefully you stocked up on toilet rolls and Tim Tams this time :)

Anyway, from myself and my family, thanks again everyone, you are truly awesome.

Geoff.

any chance that hidden blade is in anyway a functional prop?

Patttar

its on the member depot under dioramas and displays

Geoffro / Hex3D

how do i get the star wars stl?

Joe Knudsen

Actually on the very first post......ALL NEW MEMBERS!!: If you have not already done so, please register on the following site using the same email address as you use here for patreon - this is how you download files, it is not optional: https://www.hex3dpatreon.com/ May the force be with you, and your printer... Geoff.

mezzondo

The comment you are replying to is 7 months old. Please use the patreon support, they were trying to help you but you simply gave up. You have an account on the member depot you are logging into, this is the most confusing part of it all - you are actually logging in, which means you have the link to the files, you followed it, you signed up, your account was activated and as of April 21st, you were logging into it just fine - considering starter access can only see a few sections below the chat box im really not sure how you're missing it.

Geoffro / Hex3D

Yes, I can see you emailed, and I can see the replies, and I can see they indeed did try and assist you. It is a very simple process once you log into the member site. I can see you have logged into the site as recently as April 21st, so there is no issue with you actually logging in to see models to download.

Geoffro / Hex3D

Agree / this is a bit disorganized. Pattern page doesn’t give me the links and the member depot had a post saying “this 40 pack is everything you need” and I couldn’t access even after signing up and getting the email saying I was active.

William R Gallagher

Yes I did. I’m not sure why this is so hard to get some files - I traded numerous emails asking where to login and get files. I’ve read paragraph after paragraph of text explaining quite a bit - patreonsupport@hex3d.com asked over and over again if I received the welcome email and signed up. I simple needed to be pointed to where the files are. It seems this could be made to be easier. Sorry

William R Gallagher

Did you contact patreonsupport@hex3d.com ? I don't have any messages from you here either.

Geoffro / Hex3D

I cancelled today as I was still not able to download a file

William R Gallagher

Hi, I really love the Luke/Vader Diorama but I can't find it anywhere in the depot, any help?

Jon Oli Helgason

The depot is the archive.

Geoffro / Hex3D

Everybody mentions the depot and the archive. I can access the member's depot, but where is the archive???

Peter Sneddon

Yeah so if there are some, I must be looking in the wrong place :)

Pedro Claudio

Some of them may have been moved into the archives since it’s mid August.

Amanda Shuey

Did you check the depot?

Amanda Shuey

Am I missing the July uploads somewhere? Thanks in advance.

Pedro Claudio

I tell you...i am crossing my fingers and toes to try and win that saturn lol...i have had nothing but issues with mine :(

Tony Canavan

Not at this time sorry, they are more work than just head :/

Geoffro / Hex3D

Is there any chance we can receive a model with a normal head when you release a Grogue version? You've released several amazing figures I would have loved to have printed if it had a version with a normal head. Please consider. Thanks.

Kelley Hendrix

I have emailed the support email with no reply and I have an email that says "welcome to hex 3D Patreon member Depot" with my username.

ROBERT LUKEZICH

Also, you do not have a member depot account at all, I assume this was your issue? This post directed in your welcome email was really important: https://www.patreon.com/posts/greetings-37024359

Geoffro / Hex3D

We do not get all message notifications here, this is why we have several support avenues. Depot issues email : patreonsupport@hex3d.com any other issues geoff@hex3d.com

Geoffro / Hex3D

Can an admin please message me? I've been messaging for a week now with no response

ROBERT LUKEZICH

yeah easy done!

Geoffro / Hex3D

Loving the Kyber Crystal models. Any chance the inside of the pendant holders could be a dome shape instead of flat? This would allow them to be printed upside down on a resin printer (like in your printbed layout pic) but without any supports.

TheRealJP

We are new backers are also tech bloggers, and YouTube. We help education too. Technewszone.com We will show your models on YouTube.com/Technewszonecom

David Berkowitz(Technewszone.com)

Beyond impressive!!!

German

I upload models, you download them

Geoffro / Hex3D

Am new to this were can we upload the models and

Kestens karel

I agree.

Marleen

I may very well be in the minority here, but would it be possible to get alternate (normal) heads for the mashups? Sure Groku is great, but I'd LOVE to have the models as they are originally, not a mash up. The Loki's are superbly done, but can't see myself using them with a Groku head. Some of your other models like the T2 on the bike and Hannibal Lector amg OMG Bob Ross! will probably sit unprinted for me which is a shame because they are so fantastic, just not with a Grogu head on top. Not a criticism at all, again your work is phenomenal, just posing a query to expand the versatility maybe.

estrus

I need Grogu Loki in my life.

Cody

Hi Geoff, i just start it my 2nd month, sadly i don't printed anything till now because i wait for the full access. On the welcome package i didn't find it nothing for me because have a lot of star wars thing (i don't really like the star wars) and also a lot of big prints for filament printer. Can i ask if you have Alien movie stuff on the full package and statues like black widow or other 20, 30cm ones sliced in parts like legs, arms etc for easy prints? I do 3d printing and painting from 3 years and the 3d printing communinty know me already from my Alien works. At the moment i work on a 20cm statue from Alita movie bought from the cults. I am interested in any nice statue what is small enough to print on my elegoo mars pro and any Alien stuff because i am a huge alien fan with a massive collection. Thanks for your hard time what you spend to make the high quality models for the community.

Krisztian Pintea

Looks amazing, just waiting for my account to be activated. Very eager :)

MrJaffa

NM found it

Andrew Pryor

I can't see it.

Andrew Pryor

it was posted last week and its been printed already

Geoffro / Hex3D

Will the Star Wars Vader/Luke diorama be posted soon?

Andrew Pryor

Luckily I am in Perth so lock-downs are not as prolonged. Just stay safe so that we can continue being the recipients of these outstanding models.

Kieran Clarke

Yes, but I had an alarming amount of people complain there was too many mugs released in one month (as opposed to 1000 other types things) so I need to spread them out a bit. I'll probably release them in packs so I can sneak in like 10 new mugs but make it only look like 1 post :)

Geoffro / Hex3D

I am here for the mugs, and did not see any new ones last month are you still planning on doing mugs??

Ron Orr

had been activated, the email hopefully should be there soon! :)

Geoffro / Hex3D

Thanks for your help Geoffro

Kestens karel

Ok it says its inactive for the moment

Kestens karel

I just made ine to as karl48

Kestens karel

Geoffro / Hex3D

Kestens karel

Geoffro / Hex3D

Kestens karel

Stephen walker

Hi Geoff, do you have a link to where you got the Prusa gear?

Simon Cuthbert

Would one of the plans you have for July be busts? From Babylon 5...Like a G'Kar or such hehe.

Darryl Dennis Sandell

I can't wait to see the Star Wars diorama printed!

Andrew Pryor

YES! Multi-color prints!! Gotta be a skull for the first one! Whoop!

Neil Merwe

Thank you for everything you do for your patreon members! Best.Patreon.ever.

NcognitoMagneto

Man, thank you for the inspiration.

Travis Quesenberry

Stay safe!

Brian Muncy

As a fellow Aussie with a CR-30 I'm looking forward to some prints for that! I use Kiri:Moto as the slicer but honestly haven't found much time for FDM printing so still a beginner!

Adonael

Keep up the good work. Stay safe!

Bryan Alford

Thank you for your amazing work. Please stay safe

Scott Dalrymple

Oh I'd be so excited for the chance to win a Saturn. LOL Also excited to see what the new month brings!

Kimberly Sears

Great to hear about the MMU! I've been attempting (mostly unsuccessfully) to try to part out some models that would make pretty awesome MM prints... way easier to just have them designed separately. lol. The MMU2s is.... finicky to say the least a few "upgrades" help it run more reliably - I say with quotes because its really more of a different method than a true upgrade. If you get into the weeds of it after trying it out stock, this link has most of what I've done to improve the experience. https://www.hcd.net/prusa-mmu2s/Prusa-MMU2S-Reliability-Modifications.htm Thanks for all you do man!

stjohnny22

No Tim tams but plenty of good uk Penguin biscuits in the cupboard. Thank you for a the amazing models (I think I need a bigger printer)

Dean Asher

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻great job and thanks for all you do!!!

SteveO

You're the best! Thanks for everything you do!

Randy Barnes

Awesome mate, thanks for all you do! I have plenty to keep me busy through this lockdown 🤙🏽

Michael Dunlap

Keep up the amazing work!! Love seeing what you release.

Weston Ketner

Ok thanks .

Silver

Only here, as only members can enter. It is not for the FB group as there is about 8000 people who are not members. The survey will not go out until/ If we reach the goal, so there is no need to worry too much about it at the moment.

Geoffro / Hex3D

Thanks for your hard job Geoff. One question. The survey for the eleggo Mars, you will post here in the patreon page or in the fb page?
