Aug 2025 Updates

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to drop in real quick to let everyone know how things have been on my end. For the most part, it's been really soul-crushing working as an intern story editor for an AI slop company. Thankfully, this torment ends by 30 Aug and hopefully I'll be able to swing back into things that really matter. August has also been the start of my 3rd semester in university. I'm expecting to clear most of my assignments by the end of August just as well and hope to resume comic production throughout the month of September.

Billing Frozen

With all that said, I've frozen billing for another month as you can see from the table below, I'm far from ready to release any substantial content into the public just yet. My personal goal now is to have drafts for Pillow Talk 1 & 2, as well as Himbo Energy done before I resume billing. I hope to do have most of this ready by October. Each of the names you see below represent a short arc of the 4-panel strip series for Meatier Showers. My goal is to pivot to this format for the year of 2026 as I will not be able to commit to longer, labor intensive formats.

Nip Slip Preview

Given all that's happened on my end, I'm switching to a 4-panel format primarily for practically and also to help rebuild my own confidence and love for comics. The past year or so has really done me some damage and going back to something smaller in scale, simpler to focus more on character moments would hopefully serve to be more therapeutic. Seeing how the previous print project was so badly delayed also made me reconsider if it was worth aiming for print as the end-goal - of which I felt a more immediate online engagement with my audience is more important at this point, than say print media.

The progress you see above is for a short 3-part, 4 panel arc called, "Nip Slip" where Snares the lifeguard lion teases Pridestar with, well, you know. It pretty much serves as an introductory arc for folks unfamiliar with the characters. The layouts and composition will later be reused for efficiency, in a follow-up arc called, "Himbo Energy". The Stars story arc will be used as bookends for every 12 parts, meaning that it'll run like an ongoing A plot that unravels each year.

I know most of this makes more sense to me than it will to anyone else, but that's where I am mentally at for now. I think if the smaller scale production takes off, I'll be happy to explore newer options and angles, but for now, there will be a fair number of reused panels and repetition.
