What do you guys think of the theory that Biter might be a squisher? Brienne’s thoughts about Biter while fighting him in her second-to-last chapter do echo a lot of the yarn Nimble Dick was spinning. He’s got sharp teeth, he’s hard to kill, and when Brienne hits his doughy flesh she is unnerved by just how much *give* it has; in other words, he’s pretty squishy! It would make structural sense for Brienne to fight a squisher near the end of her FFC arc after hearing and mostly ignoring Dick’s tale earlier on. It would be interesting then to consider if Biter being a squisher was always the plan, and if George was sowing the seeds for more water-based magic and monsters early on, to reap later when the Crow’s Eye comes sailing to Oldtown on his sea of blood, maybe with some squishers in thrall?
