Monster City v0.1.3 - DevLog

Hey everyone!
With v0.1.3, the real game finally begins! Hope you'll enjoy hanging out with Adam and the girls — things are about to get a lot more fun (and weird).
I'm also starting a new habit: occasional devlogs! These will help me keep you all in the loop about what's coming next, what’s changing, and what madness I'm brewing behind the scenes.

❓ What happened to v0.1.1 and v0.1.2?
Great question!
v0.1.1 is going to be the free, revised, proofread demo — coming soon to both Patreon and Steam. It'll give new players a polished taste of Monster City.
...and v0.1.2...
Let’s just say… it happened. Too many bugs, too many headaches, and not enough time. I ended up scrapping it, rolling up my sleeves, and pouring everything into what became v0.1.3 — which now has twice the content I originally planned.
So yeah… bad news for my sleep schedule, good news for you.

🧛 Story Mode
This update brings a solid chunk of scenes — but it’s still a work in progress. Some transitions are a bit rough or sudden, and I’m planning to smooth things out in v0.1.4. I may also adjust the flow of events a bit, slipping in side scenes from places like the gym and restaurant to give things a more natural rhythm.

🧭 Sandbox Mode
After the intro, the game opens up and lets you explore the world more freely. Sandbox mode is live and kicking — and I really encourage you to try it out! There’s no grind, map navigation is easy, and you’ve got tools to help you find all the juicy content:
-Monstacram's Questlog shows what’s available (and what’s coming).
-Character icons on the map tell you who’s around and ready for story scenes.
(Implementing all this with just YT tutorials and ChatGPT whispering in my ear was painful, so I hope you enjoy the result 😅)

The looping scenes at the Gym, MonsterFood and Class are still limited for now — but my goal is to build bigger loops (~30 scenes each), to keep things fresh and avoid repetition.
These scenes are meant to be light, with a focus on comedy, sexy skits, and the occasional NSFW moment. Some will even sneak in a bit of story development, and when they do, those scenes will also show up in Story Mode — so you won’t miss anything important even if you're playing casually.

Speaking of repetition: there is no grind. None. Nada. Scenes aren’t locked behind tedious clickfests.
That said, Monster Points (MPs) are coming in the next version, and they’ll be used to unlock things like Felvia’s spicy scenes (which are currently free). So if you're curious... maybe now’s the time to enjoy her content to the fullest. 👀
(And don’t worry — even when MPs arrive, you’ll earn enough of them just by playing. No grinding, promise.)

To help you make the most of Sandbox Mode, a full walkthrough just dropped!
It’ll be updated with every new release and will focus on:
-Helping players navigate the Sandbox efficiently
-Finding the best routes for each love interest (LI)
-Tracking down all the available secrets and hidden events
Whether you're a completionist, a chaos goblin, or just don’t want to miss a scene, this will be your new best friend.

🔮 Coming Soon (v0.1.4)
The next update is planned for the end of the month, and it’ll focus on expanding the main story, with at least five new scenes on the way.
If I can find the time, I’ll also be adding a new special scene for Kass’s "Delivery" loop. Fingers crossed!

🛠️ Tech Notes
You might notice a few voice SFXs in the game: while some (the NSFW sfxs) are part of the amazing OpenNSFW SoundPack, others (the giggles and similar SFW sfxs) are currently AI-generated placeholders.
They’re there to help me test the vibe and flow, but the plan is to replace them with real voice acting as soon as possible (hopefully sooner rather than later!).
