Added 2018-08-13 22:20:28 +0000 UTCI got myself a copy of Gaea last month and I'm currently testing Substance Designer.
Gaea is a terrain generator like World Machine. It can shape a landscape based on principles and then let it erode in many ways. I really like it but it's early access so it crashes alot.
Substance Designer lets you generate tileable textures but the mechanics are quite abstract. In fact even Gaea is a faster rock-wall generator.
I wasn't sure if Substance is a good choice for C:S sizes of textures and meanwhile I am pretty sure it isn't made for these scales. I will see if I can easily export multiple tiles and stick them together quickly. If that's the case, it will definitely become part of my software hub.
