Although this month saw the release of an update, I still have some news and thoughts to share with you. It's not quite the typical dev report, as there isn't much to show, but maybe someone will find it interesting to hear about what I've been dealing with over the past weeks.
Yes, despite my request to avoid it, the game was leaked three days after its early access release. Shortly after the base release ($5), the game was leaked several more times. I didn’t think that a game, which would be free for everyone in just a couple of weeks, would get leaked. Well, I was wrong.
The leak itself is unpleasant for me, but I’m not here to judge anyone—everyone has their own moral compass. What’s worse is that scammers often exploit these leaks, posting the game on their own stores and profiting from it. This creates a challenge, especially when so much time, effort, and resources are invested into development.
So, I’m considering my options. One possibility is to release updates more frequently, perhaps once a month, to make leaks less impactful. However, this would significantly slow down my work, as preparing and releasing an update often takes over a week, and the content of these quick releases would be minimal (a new cutscene, outfit or bug fixes). I have doubts about this approach.
Another option is to implement online verification within the game. This would require an internet connection and a unique code to unlock the game. While this method could reduce leaks, it’s not ideal for me as it complicates the experience for players and demands a considerable amount of time to implement. I’m still weighing this option.
I truly appreciate the thoughts and feedback from each of you, and the interest from players always brings positive feelings. It helps me understand whether I'm heading in the right direction and sometimes even helps me adjust certain elements. However, there is another side. I receive messages almost every day from both paid and free subscribers saying that the game is great but it needs more h-scenes, more outfits, more animations, more enemies, more weapons, more NPCs, etc.
I understand that all these suggestions come from good intentions, and I always respond because I value every player who enjoys what I’m creating. But if you have an idea or suggestion to improve the game, please take a moment to think it over—consider the resources and time it would require, and whether it fits within the game’s world. Game development is not just about clicking “add NPC” → “Accept.” Even the smallest change can impact the story and other mechanics.
I have a clear vision for the project and an understanding of the resources I have for game development, so I kindly ask you to trust me in this. If you like the game at this stage, I’m confident you’ll enjoy the continuation as well. Endless additions would only lead to the game being stuck in perpetual development, which I want to avoid.
So, feedback—yes. Thoughtful ideas—yes. Constructive criticism—yes. Adding vampires to the game—no. 🙂
Let’s take a moment to review what I worked on last month and the progress made.
One of the first steps in developing the next update always begins with a technical document—a detailed plan of everything I intend to accomplish. While it may seem like just a simple To-Do list, in reality, it takes a significant amount of time and effort. For this update, I’ve decided to structure it in a way that reflects my vision for this part of the game. The aim is to ensure that the content I create now will require minimal changes in the future.
Since the project has grown considerably, I need to organize things to prevent the development from turning chaotic. This will help maintain a clear direction and avoid wasting time reworking past content.
While not all tasks are listed here, below are some key items from the plan:
Add a portion of the alternative story path
Revamp some animations
Redesign levels to improve the level design
Completely overhaul lighting (switch to the new MegaLights technology or baked lighting)
Optimize level streaming to eliminate micro-freezes
Finalize and voice all dialogues for the rest of the game
Replace all AI-generated assets
Introduce new enemies and define their mechanics
Create a censored version for streamers and content creators (a common request)
Implement a mental health system
Possibly add online verification
I want to be transparent with you and avoid making any uncertain promises. Given the scope of the update, I believe it will take longer to complete than previous updates—likely around 4-5 months. So, if you’ve subscribed for the sole purpose of receiving the game update, I completely understand if you choose not to continue your paid support.
Since storytelling is particularly important to me in games, I invest considerable time and attention into crafting the plot of Parasite Inside. Last month, I was able to fully complete writing the main plot and outline the events. This will allow me to stay focused on the goal and accurately assess the scope of work moving forward.
Due to changes in the storyline, some dialogues had to be rewritten. To ensure natural flow and consistent quality of voice sound throughout the game, voice actors need access to all dialogue lines that will appear in the final version. That’s why I’ve revised the existing dialogue and completed all the lines planned for version 0.4.0.
I’ll continue working on the remaining dialogue until everything is finalized and ready for voiceover. This process takes time, so I believe it’s best to handle it thoroughly from the start.
There aren’t many images to show this time, but here are a few new 3D assets created for the upcoming update.

Well, this dev report turned out to be more text-heavy than usual—if it even qualifies as a dev report! I’m continuing to work actively and will keep you updated along the way. Thank you for your support!
With gratitude,
Kodman
