Hey everyone!
Since update 0.2.2 proved to be quite stable with no major bugs found, I’ve dived right into developing the next update, which will expand the main storyline. I’m excited to share some progress updates from October — here’s what’s been accomplished:
Gallery Updates
Before releasing 0.2.2, I added all the new and updated cutscenes to the gallery. Also, I was able to fix a bug related to sound in the gallery, where playback speed occasionally increased unexpectedly. Now everything should work smoothly!

Level Design Planning
I’ve mapped out the level layouts for two new sectors that will be featured in the next update. These areas will be fairly linear, with minimal branching, as there won’t be maps available for these sectors. I decided not to include maps in the maintenance sections of the ship, as I felt it made sense for the technical crew to already know the layout by heart.
Level Art
I wrapped up 3D modeling for one of the maintenance bay sectors. My goal was to capture a more atmospheric feel here, especially since this part of the ship saw significant events before Oni emerged from stasis. I hope this adds some depth to the backstory!

Visual Effects
I’m no expert in Unreal Engine particle effects, so I used pre-made assets from the marketplace and modified them to suit the game’s aesthetic. After some tweaking, I managed to create effects that enhance the mood of these new areas. Optimizing them took considerable time since the default versions were quite resource-heavy. Now, the game should maintain a good frame rate even in these newly detailed locations.

Sound Effects
Creating sound elements is one of the most challenging aspects of game development for me. I want to ensure that the visual effects are enhanced with matching audio, so I spend a lot of time refining this part. It’s a time-consuming process, but I’m committed to making it as immersive as possible.

Implant System Balancing
Since this is a new system, I spent a few days adjusting implant parameters after the last update. For example, the "Adrenaline Modulator V-12" implant turned out to be a bit overpowered, so I rebalanced it to better align with the character’s stamina requirements.

3D Models
Every month brings new models to the game! Most of them are environmental assets, helping to flesh out the world and add more detail to each area.

Looking ahead, I plan to spend November working on new locations, creating a new enemy, and adding more cutscenes. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you all for your support!
Best regards,
Kodman
