POLL - ⚔️ Upcoming MasterStudy Month! ⚔️
Added 2021-06-14 22:21:34 +0000 UTC
Hey Bootcampers,
We're SUPER excited about next month's theme: Drawing Like the Masters. 🔥
Class 4.1 is titled Contemporary Master Study, and we'll be breaking down and replicating a piece from a digital art MASTER! We've listed a few artist's whose work we thought would be a good fit, but we'd love to hear what you think! Below is some insight as to why we selected these four:
Jaime Jones: Ross' own art mentor whose work was inspired by John Singer Sargent and Anders Zorn. He worked on Star Wars, Destiny, and Man of Steel.
Craig Mullins: One of the first big digital art masters who worked on major franchises such as Magic: The Gathering, Jurassic Park, Tangled, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Rei 17: Another modern master who specialized in anime-style illustrations and even contributed a Nimaverse piece.
Syd Mead: Industrial design genius and futuristic concept artist who worked on titles such as Blade Runner, Aliens, and Tron.
Please note that these may not be the exact images we select to study. :)
Let us know who you would like to see! ✨

2021-06-18 14:11:10 +0000 UTCHonestly choosing one is impossible 😂 it’s like choosing between god vs god vs god vs god! They all are such a incredible artists and I would love to learn from all! Haha but with pain I would ether chose Jaime Jones or Rei 17. Thank you for the marvelous content.
2021-06-17 09:13:20 +0000 UTCI love WLOP, Yuumei, and Guweiz especially. But out of these, I'd choose Rei!

2021-06-16 06:28:54 +0000 UTCFor me, it's more like Namendart on Instagram ^^
2021-06-16 01:55:38 +0000 UTCi think REI 17 had the same vibe as Celestialfang (instagram)
2021-06-15 17:55:41 +0000 UTCWLOP would also be pretty awesome! :)
2021-06-15 17:28:30 +0000 UTCWLOP or Samdoesarts please
2021-06-15 16:07:20 +0000 UTCI would've picked anyone but Rei but goddamn I really want to learn her technique for my stuff.
2021-06-15 16:04:24 +0000 UTC100% Agree with Michal and Cody - I think Rei and Jamie’s styles are different enough it would be beneficial to do both, and while I appreciate the more anime styled artwork, I personally lean more toward concept art. Jaime Jones is easily one of my favorite concept artists of all time, knowing Ross was his apprentice was half the motivation to do the bootcamp in the first place, since I knew I’d be getting at least *some* of his technique.

2021-06-15 15:36:41 +0000 UTCLet's hope he hears us!
2021-06-15 14:55:53 +0000 UTCI highly agree with Michal. More than anyone else, I would like to see a study of Jamie Jones since Ross was Jaime's apprentice and was able to study under him. Jaime, like Craig Mullins has a beautiful way of using technique to create meaning and mood with painting strokes. This is something that would be awesome to learn and study together!
2021-06-15 14:54:38 +0000 UTCCraig is the best but he's already got great courses out there, I would love Ross to pick Jaime Jones since there is almost nothing about him on the internet and he is a true Master as well.
2021-06-15 14:22:14 +0000 UTCHi Ross! I would really really love you to do a study of Jaime Jones! There is so little thing about him and his thought process on the internet and it's a shame since he's truly one of the best out there. I love Craig Mullins the same, but he's got great courses which I highly recommend. You were Jaime's apprentice and you know him personally, there is no better person to explain his workflow than you! It seems Rei is going to win the poll, but maybe you could consider like a short bonus study of Jaime and tell a little bit about his technique and what he thinks of when painting? Lots of love <3
2021-06-15 14:21:21 +0000 UTCi chosed other (wlop) have a nice touch on hip painting
2021-06-15 10:07:10 +0000 UTCJaime or Craig for sure!

2021-06-15 09:10:17 +0000 UTCKan Liu is the master i would choose cause he has like a similar style to ross which is something everyone here likes n maybe wanna achieve- n he's like a big master of storytelling n composition- for me. n very simple so its easier to study from -have a good one- everyone <3
2021-06-15 08:03:46 +0000 UTCCraig, I think it’d be really beneficial to look at one of the first digital artists to really understand digital art more
2021-06-15 07:28:03 +0000 UTCRuan Jia would be awesome to study too. Especially his delicate sense of colors!
2021-06-15 05:39:25 +0000 UTCWlop would be a great choice too honestly
2021-06-15 05:19:17 +0000 UTCHere is to hoping he looks at some craig mullins stuff too
2021-06-15 05:05:08 +0000 UTCMaybe it's possible to dedicate the class to both Jaime Jones and Rei17??? Would be super great!
2021-06-15 04:51:36 +0000 UTCI want all😄

2021-06-15 04:46:07 +0000 UTCKan Liu
2021-06-15 04:33:03 +0000 UTCI chose Jamie because I love the way Ross inspires me and I would love to learn more from the mentor that inspired him!
2021-06-15 04:30:41 +0000 UTCI chose Rei because I like how they combine lineart with painting, I love that approach. But it would be so cool to see a combo of all of them like, Rei's lineart, with Syd Mead's colors, Craig Mullins' composition and Jaime Jons' shapes, or something like that 😂 (jk...unless👀)

2021-06-15 00:30:38 +0000 UTCI think Craig Mullins and Jaime Jones are the absolute masters and the ones we could take the most of, but anyway I'll be happy to learn from anyone :) If Ross selected them they must be good options too!
