If you shit inside of your pants, you have shit yourself by hitting that criteria AND there is now shit on your pants so the definition is both "I shit my pants/I shit myself". The ability to wipe or clean is the caveat that matters here and determines if you've shit yourself or made a conscious decision to shit outside of the normal parameters.
