It’s really interesting revisiting this episode and hearing Aidan talk about the different stages of the podcast because like as dumb as it sounds this podcast has kind of followed me through my life the last few years. Like when the first episode came out I was stocking shelves in a grocery store with like no direction in my life and now I’m a chef at a Michelin Star restaurant and it’s just really cool to hear the parallels in my progression of life with how Aidan describes his. Like the idea of getting more comfortable with who I am and settling into my skin and feeling like I deserve the things I’ve worked for. Idk great ep man it’s always gonna be one I revisit

I’ve always had a very hard time deciding between the four boys but this entire episode caught me off guard and was beautiful. As someone in his mid 20s with a very tight nit group of friends that some of us have been friends for almost 2 decades, I’m often wondering when/how our group will eventually end and so to see that talked about as well as such a genuine appreciation of your close friendships, this episode hit me hard.

I didnt think any one of the 4 could make a good episode on their own, especially the punching bag. Somehow my goat brought it in a completely different direction that I don’t think any of the rest could do and exceeded all expectations. It wasn’t a particularly ‘funny’ episode but surprisingly therapist Aidan still got me audibly laughing. Might actually be my favorite episode so far.

It was really fascinating to hear about your relationships with your friends and how you can specifically pinpoint a memory that made you change how you are as a person and that made me really relate to the bad (and good) memories that I have had with my friends and how much I’ve changed because of those moments in my life. I think that this was worth it to me and easily justifies paying for access to these (and to the advice show), but unfortunately since this is the first and only episode that I have listened to, it is objectively the worst one that I have ever heard. Sorry.

However, the device of the therapist felt extremely forced. The attempted comedy just didn't hit for me and it felt like him copping out from expressing his true feelings. It's completely understandable but it took me out of listening experience. I have never commented before and probably won't comment again but it genuinely made my day better listening to this.

I think some people will dislike this episode because it's unlike the standard format, but I think the premo's are meant to sometimes be different to the main pod. I'd like to see more unique formats here.
