He pretends to be sick and says something like: he's owning up to his mistakes, and doing this to prove his friendship, and he admits that his obsession with Japan is getting perpetually harder to listen to, and that he's going to dial it back a bit. Meanwhile, he's eating rice cakes that are dyed brown and poorly fashioned into the shape of chicken nuggets. All this to get out of providing his nearest and dearest friends (again, Aiden is here for some reason) a simple and regular apology.
