Nick's Advice Show (Starring: Aiden) #51 [VIDEO]
Added 2022-12-17 06:17:59 +0000 UTC00:00:00 - intro
00:05:43 - I take 3-4 classes a semester and work 36+ hours a week. I'm struggling with my work-life balance, do you have any advice on how I can split time evenly?
00:28:31 - I opened up to my friend about my mental health journey, and she also opened up about how she suffers from similar problems. However, anytime we call, she tells me all about her anxieties and won't take any advice.
00:30:45 - aiden has a rant
00:44:45 - I love ballet but ever since the beginning of high school, I always compared myself to other girls. I'm struggling with my weight and eating. I aim to audition for full-time dance courses, but I'm worried that my eating issues will intensify.

this is late but for the dancer: if you reach the pinnacle of your career in 10 years but spent the last 15 with food and your body consuming your thoughts every day, will you really be happy? and if you recover is there a possibility that you could find happiness in places you didn't before (living a more free life without obsessive thoughts), so ending up better off overall, even if you lose ballet?

2023-01-30 18:58:25 +0000 UTCI like Slime's advice because it tends to be kinda to the point, whereas Nick and Aiden tend to explore the issue from every angle and kinda provide an wide lens view of the issue. Slime's bluntness is refreshing in that paradigm, but I also do appreciate the Classic Duo's ability to talk about one thing but have it kinda be about more than that by looking at it through a few lenses.

2023-01-07 01:18:13 +0000 UTCi actually really liked the advice given regarding the ballet girl, how Nick and Aiden didn't automatically go, don't dance if it's bad for you. I appreciated the nuanced approach

2022-12-24 07:23:58 +0000 UTCFor the part where they were talking about sharing your emotional stability with someone-you should really look up Spoon Theory! The TDLR; is you only have a limited amount of spoons each day. If you over extend yourself by using tomorrow's spoons or you lend your spoons to someone else, sooner or later you're going to be the one low on spoons and constantly chasing that energy that you really need to get through the day

2022-12-22 22:01:05 +0000 UTCSlimes advice is fantastic. It reminds me of the advice of a father who wants to help the best he can but deals with all his issues with laughter and sarcasm. I think having him Voiceover Mr. Duck for one question a week would be hilarious and bring its own brand of helpful for certain write ins.

2022-12-19 20:48:56 +0000 UTCThe Slime episodes are funny and Slime IS precious. But I appreciate the longer answers, and the back and forth Nick and Aiden have. Slime's blunt answers that cut straight to the bone are great, but I prefer the meatier responses.

2022-12-19 16:13:32 +0000 UTCI genuinely enjoy slime's advice because I think the thing about advice is that it's not meant to be a perfect answer to your question or solution to your problem. The purpose of advice is to gain new insight or perspective from another person and it's entirely on you to decide how much of that advice you want to actually listen to. Slime offers a realness and bluntness to his answers and sometimes that's the medicine you need to swallow. Hope to see him on the show more!

2022-12-19 14:31:15 +0000 UTCLove this duo. Perfect amount of empathy(Aimen) and logic(Nick). Great stuff guys. I’m gonna go to my local public library now to follow up on Mr. Ducks advice :D

2022-12-18 02:31:37 +0000 UTCabout the ballet question: i’m 20 years old and did ballet for 16 years of my life (from the age of 2)— it fucked up my body up so much and i deal with it everyday. i still sometimes get sad that i quit and miss it, but i honestly think that quitting ballet was the healthiest choice i ever made and it wasn’t as life-altering as i thought it would be. i have no doubt that you can find something else that will make you happy, if you choose to quit ballet! good luck !! <3

2022-12-17 16:37:05 +0000 UTCAdvice show level up! looks great! i loved Nick's health bar analogy at 41:21. Mr Duck's advice was the best though, kill all cops. got it.

2022-12-17 16:07:56 +0000 UTCI love Slime episodes! His answers always start off a little harsh, but there’s a ton of wisdom there and despite having a bad reputation he gives solid, well thought out answers that are probably exactly what you need to hear.

2022-12-17 14:03:36 +0000 UTCfor the dancer i'd just say that the longer you have an eating disorder the more likely you'll be dealing with that shit your entire life. If you start recovery when you're only 17 you absolutely can go on to have a normal life and relationship with food. but if you keep this going until the end of your dance career you'll end up having starved yourself for literally a decade plus, and to be honest at that point to completely shake that and live a normal life would be almost impossible. On top of that there's the permanent health problems you'd get from being malnourished that long (infertility, issues with your heart, even seizures). i know you probably don't care too much about current you, but really really think about future you and who you want that person to be and what options you want that person to have. best of luck, take care of yourself <3

2022-12-17 11:11:14 +0000 UTCAfter listening to the most recent Slime advice ep., I ended up re-listening to all of them throughout the week. I actually really enjoy them! Slime's criticism on episodes is super insightful and helpful and I don't find it to be overly harsh. I also think ever since quincy boys, the Slime and Aimen combo is elite. Both formats have their own benefits and are helpful, would love to see a tri-cast advice show :D
