They will 100% be defensive and respond with some argument about "What's wrong with just asking you to defend your position?" or "So you're admitting you're wrong?" etc. But if you just totally ignore their argument and say "Look, I don't care if you're right; when you talk like this you're not fun to be around and no one is having a good time" I think if you say that really directly once or twice they will get the memo

I will attempt to not engage with him in the future and see how it pans out. I had a very ridicolous argument about the "vietnam song" where i tried to get some progress and it had no impact so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and im guessing majority of those who will read this will hear fortunate son when reading it. but i was asked for sources to prove that it was the vietnam song even though one of my friends who only heard the term "vietnam song" started humming it.
