Posable Car System [VRChat]

An avatar system that lets you drop a car into the world which you can then interact with by opening the doors, turning the steering wheel, etc. Great for photoshoots and hanging out!

This system is PC only due to heavily relying on PC only components like constraints.

This system is offered as both a FREE version and a PAID version

The Free version contains:

• An empty version of the Posable Car System for you to put your own car in.
  • A Tutorial is included with the documentation, this will require a decent amount of blender and unity knowledge
• 1 car as an example, the Hot Hatch

The Paid version contains:

• Everything included in the Free version above
• 3 additional vehicles. The Muscle Car, Station Wagon, and Lifted Pickup.

Car System Features:

• World Drop - Drop the car in the world and have it stay there

• World Sync - An additional version is included which will properly sync the position of the car for late-joiners but is slightly more expensive performance wise.

• Interactive Doors, Hood, Trunk, etc. - You can grab and open/close a number of doors/hood/trunk on each car

• Interactive Steering Wheel - Turning the steering wheel will also turn the front wheels of the car.

• Terrain Matching Raycasting - The system will automatically try to place the car at an angle to match the slope of the ground that it's resting on as well as moving the wheels to match so that they aren't floating. This can be toggled on/off
  

• Manual Pose Adjustment - If you need to adjust the pose of the car for more dynamic shots, you can adjust the pitch, roll, yaw, and height of the car off the ground by grabbing and moving various physbones located around the car.

• Working Lights - Each vehicle has working emissions for headlights, reverse lights, and turn signals
  

• VRCFury install - Simply drag and drop whichever version of the car system you want onto your avatar and hit upload. VRCFury will handle the rest.

Performance Stats:

The Performance stats listed here are for the HotHatch variant included in the Free version. This provides a good benchmark for what the performance stats will look like for other variations. The main difference between vehicles being Material Slots, PolyCount, and Physbones.

• 30 bits of Parameter Memory

• 9 Material Slots
• 1 Skinned Mesh Renderer
• ~45 MB VRAM usage

Dependencies:

The system uses Final IK for the Raycasting

All of the models use Poiyomi as the shader

The Main installation method for this system is intended to be VRCFury.

Optional:

In the case of needing/wanting a manual install it is recommended to use Avatars 3.0 Manager

This is an invaluable tool for fixing animations on avatars that break due to missing paths. Very useful if you're going to be using this system with a custom model.

• The models for all the cars used in both the Free and Paid versions are by Daniel Zhabotinsky and used under CC BY 4.0

  • American Muscle '71 - Low poly model

• Poiyomi for the shader being used on the car models
• VRLabs for the World Constraint prefab, Raycast System Prefab, of which, modified versions were used in the making of this asset. They also made and distribute the FinalIK stub which is used in this project so that users don't need to purchase FinalIK themselves.
• Juzo for the WorldSync system, of which, a modified version is used for the WorldSync version of this asset.
• Main Avatar used to showcase the system is the KitFox by MiloFox.

Terms:

For the Terms listed below, the Free version and Paid version count as separate products. Someone who has the Paid version implicitly owns the Free version. i.e. someone who has the Paid version of the asset can take commissions involving the contents of both the Free and Paid versions. Though in most cases for custom setups I'd expect both parties should be good with the Free version if they don't need any of the assets in the Paid version. These terms are mainly here to prevent people from distributing the assets of the Paid version to people who don't own it.

FREE VERSION:

• You CAN Redistribute the files to anyone who has not also purchased the asset
• You CAN use this asset on Public avatars.
• You CAN ask for and take Commissions involving this asset
• You CAN use this asset for content creation such as Streaming, Videos, other media, etc.
• You CAN use this asset Commercially. Though please credit me if possible, thanks.
• I will not be held responsible for your avatar breaking if you import the asset incorrectly. Making a backup of your avatar is recommended before adding the asset.
• Due to the Digital nature of the asset, no refunds will be accepted
• These terms may be subject to change.

PAID VERSION:

• You CANNOT Redistribute the files to anyone who has not also purchased the asset
  • This applies specifically to the 3 additional vehicles in the Paid version. All the Free version assets included in the Paid version use the Free version terms.
• You CAN use this asset on Public avatars.
• You CAN ask for and take Commissions involving this asset provided both parties own the asset
• You CAN use this asset for content creation such as Streaming, Videos, other media, etc. as long as the asset files themselves are not distributed.
• You CANNOT use this asset Commercially, the exception being the terms listed above
  • Same note as above, specifically applies only to the 3 additional vehicles in the Paid version.
