Ok! So this is a video I made just before Watches & Wonders; and I was going to post it earlier.... But I just kept thinking "I'm not 100% happy with it". I think I could have done this better. Maybe in the future I will re-do it. But for now - here it is! "Why everyone should own a watch".
And these are just some of the reasons I can think of.
But it is nice to take time to reflect on why watches are so fantastic and why I genuinely think everyone should own a watch that they love..... Rather than doing another "6 ROLEX WATCHES THAT ARE NOW CHEAPER GOING SECONDARY" haha! A VERY Gringa video that I 100% will make...

I say it all the time and I need to say it again: Thank you sooo so much for supporting my weird little channel. I really do get it when people need to drop patreon - it's expensive lol! And an unnecessary expense! But this really does keep my channel financially viable and goes back in to creating (hopefully) better and better content. Thank you so so much guys and gals. <3

As a little kid that always wanted to figure out how something worked what could be better then a mechanical watch! Plus nothing made me feel more like an adult than my first watch on my tiny little 8 year old wrist. Watches are just inexplicably cool.

2025-06-11 03:04:47 +0000 UTCI HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THESE APPS! Bahaha - that's so weird! But I think you nailed it - it is still replicating a mechanical watch presumably to fit that secret desire! You know - I've always been a bit unkind to Apple Watch, calling it "landfill" haha. I think they re-use a lot of things. But I guess from the perspective of a mechanical watch lover - they do feel rather replaceable. I love the idea that my watch will outlive me and I am just a custodian of it for now!

Apple Watches are readily replaceable and will require replacing for the same reasons that one’s smartphone requires replacing. Obsolete software. Battery exhaustion. Advancing features that one may never use. Broken screen. Etc…. Did you know you can buy apps that allow the “user” to select display screens that look like high horology watches? Rolex. Omega. Breitling. Vacheron. Breguet. So, even AW users have that secret desire for a mechanical watch, it seems. Just a thought. This video is spot on. Thanks Britt! 😎🍸
