As a new Panerai owner, I must say I love that the brand isn’t too common, and its history fascinates me with all its twists and turns—though many brands face similar challenges. I understand that the design language and past controversies might be a concern for some, but here’s my take: 1. I own the Luminor Quaranta (40 mm), which represents a fresh direction for the brand. (Plus I don’t mind using 44 mm) 2. I also see them making efforts to improve their movements and clean up their reputation with more transparency. For me, Panerai feels like an intriguing acquisition due to its legacy and design rather than the complexity of its movements. Anyway , hope they come back but I do like the "outlier" feeling they currently have. Give them a try ;)
