Good grief - being preggo has been harder than I thought it would be. I had all these grand plans of working up until my water breaking haha! But NOW THAT I AM LIVING IN IT. IT IS ROUGH! But we are getting so close to due date! 11 days! (Not that I think he is going to show up on time ;) )
James and I have a small bet going on. I think he's coming early. James thinks late. Statistically speaking... The odds are definitely on James' side. BUT I'VE JUST GOT THIS FEELING!
This is neither here nor there! OK. THIS VIDEO! this might be a contentious one - and YES my Rolex fan girl definitely comes through ;) But for Sunday we are talking why does Rolex only sell to flippers? Do AD's do back door deals? And is there a false scarcity? I'm so curious as to the comments on this one... Rolex is always pretty contentious and it seems like some people have had great purchasing experiences - while others have had awful ones.
But I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Especially some of your AD experiences.
Are you guys losing interest in Rolex?! I feel my heart leaving them a little bit! But i'm just in a bit of a honeymoon with my TAG Heuer, with Cartier's on the brain!

You’ve got it exactly right with the videos that the most people are searching up! And using those brands to highlight other fantastic brands is the way to do it! But James and I have popped into other AD’s and I could NOT BELIEVE THE EXPERIENCE 💀 absolutely AWFUL! Rude. Made to feel so small. They just kept bragging how they had top clients and there’s no way anyone was getting certain watches but them. IT WAS GROSS. And it made me realise like, “YUP! This is why people hate Rolex” And you’re so right - there’s so many better things you can get with your money!

And the rudeness!! I have decided to stay away. They might do very good watches but so do many others. At their retail prices so many great jlc IWC models. And at secondary prices, the holy trinity. In this time, I bought an overseas and have my royal oak booked at the boutique. Rolex can keep their watches.

While it's still hard to get a Rolex, it's getting easier and easier - plus some of the lust and clamoring for luxury watches in general - but Rolex in particular seems to have died down post-pandemic. But, without knowing what YT numbers are saying - I reckon Rolex, Tudor, and Omega in the title probably generate the most clicks. So maybe content on comparing those brands to near peers? Example: Omega vs Grand Seiko Rolex vs Glasshutte Original Longines vs Tudor Use the clickbait topics to expose and explore the alternative brands. PS - Does James or the British Military use OBE? We use it in the US Navy.

About the AD experience, I have certainly not been basically spit on as some people have reported. The last time I was in an AD (looking at a Cartier) and walked by the Rolex section the salesman asked me what I thought about Rolex and if there was one I was interested in. We talked Sky-Dweller for a few minutes and he gave me one of those Rolex magazines. Not like he offered me a watch or something but he certainly didn't treat me like an idiot for looking at them.

2024-06-22 16:29:50 +0000 UTClol Rolex. I went ‘up west’ in London 3 weeks ago. First stop - Vacheron boutique. Second stop, Mappin & Webb Rolex ( who couldn’t find me in their system !!!). Anyway. 3 weeks later from Vacheron “ we have your watch Sir, when would you like to come in”. M&W ( asked about a datejust)……well, let’s just say I never expect to hear from them. The laugh is that the Overseas is the big buy (40-ish) and the DJ is just an everyday beater. Bless ‘em.
