NEW GAME
Added 2022-08-25 19:44:05 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Long time no update, but we are ready to talk about what's next!
Honestly the last few weeks has been a little rough for us. Midnight did not hit as well as we thought, and though we think we've addressed every bug and concern that we possibly can, we are also working to add an entirely new area to the park with some new gameplay, interactions, and chat/dialogue. It's never easy to feel like you failed or didn't make something that people actually liked, but all we can do is try to course-correct, and carry the lesson forward.
We decided that while some of the new area assets are under construction, we will be working on the small middle project that will test the combat system we want to make for the next core SENSE/s title. For now we are calling this project STORAGE. If you like cryptids, American folklore, and cyberpunk cowboy guns we've got this cool little project for you. the total gameplay length will tap out at around 30 minutes to an hour max and is mainly meant to figure out where we went wrong with the overall flow for Midnight, and see if we can nail down a combat system of some kind. We are also going closer to a late-gen PS2 game aesthetic and trying to hold that down firmly, where Midnight ballooned a little.
Coping aside, we've already made the main character, are working on the weapons, and have worked out a not-perfect-but-working combat system that is not intended to be the final one we go with for the next full project, but should give us an opportunity for feedback before we get too deep into it.
the BIG EXCITING news (possibly?) is that we plan to begin streaming development soon. Probably on youtube, but we are open to suggestions on where you'd prefer to watch. Let us know in the comments where you'd prefer. We just have to get a good mic and make sure the computer is ready for that as unity tends to eat quite a bit of memory.
Thank you all for your support so far, we have no intention of giving up and really want to improve in all aspects. We can't do that without you! We hope you will follow along, be vocal about our test builds, and give us even harsh feedback where necessary!
