Simpsons video intro
Added 2023-06-21 10:42:27 +0000 UTCHi everyone. Truly going a mile a minute at the moment. And I'm meant to be shooting the second day of my short in literally days!
So yeah, this is the first section of my big Simpsons video I've been teasing about for a while. I'm probably going to do what I did with my Friends video and do chunks of it in-between other videos so I don't lose the will to live.
Next will either be this rant on franchise fatigue I've been scribbling for a while or Kevin can F**k himself season 2.
You also might be interested to know I've started posting some memoir-type blogs about random interactions I've had over the years on my medium blog. Shirley Jackson used to write memoir stories in-between her horror stories so I thought I'd try something similar and see if it prods some ideas out of me. I'll post them whenever I get time, I just did two days in a row.

Cheers :) I genuinely love season 1. Flanderisation is an interesting point because I'm watching the post golden age period now and just wrote a reimagining of the one where he runs out on Abe when needs a kidney. The thing people miss is that homer was ALWAYS a jerk, the problem with the kidney one is they paint this as a black and white issue where homer is a coward and Abe was a good father, when from past evidence we know he wasn't. There's no grey areas or nuance so homer LOOKS worse than he actually is, when he's actually just as much of a jerk as he always was
2023-06-22 10:19:32 +0000 UTCGreat video as ever! Interesting thoughts in relation to Series 1 too! Will you be looking at/have you looked at the Zombie Simpsons argument/essay at all? I tend to find that's what people will point to when they talk about the 'Golden Era' ending, particularly when discussing the 'Flanderization' of characters and Homer's development into 'Jerkass Homer'. There are elements that I think have some merit but I agree with you that the Principal and the Pauper actually showed some anarchic spirit rather than being a final nail in the coffin.
