Joining the Pack (NEW STORY)

I'm in the process of recovering from the past three years of hell, and have already started by finishing a story I've had in the works for a few months now. This is definitely something a little different; basically a furry fanfic of a non-furry property.
I thought of this after playing the Rockstar video game adaptation of the 1979 movie, The Warriors. If you haven't seen the movie or played the game, I encourage you to do both, they're very good. The story for both takes place in a fictional version of New York City controlled by various gangs throughout the city.
These gangs are very interesting in the different styles they use to stand out from each other. There's a gang that dress in baseball uniforms and face paint, another gang whose members are all female, a gang that's predominantly Asian that fights with various forms of martial arts. Anyway, because of all the unique styles of the different gangs, I got an image in my head of one gang whose uniform used pup hoods, because honestly it wouldn't be too out of place.
And so I decided to write this short story set in the universe after the events of the film and game. I tried to stay true to the universe, using various slang from the movie and game as well as references to events and other gangs in the world of The Warriors. Don't worry, if you haven't experienced either, I've included some annotations in the document that define the various terms used throughout the story.
Anyway, the story has my sona Ash wanting to join up with his friend Rai's gang, The Pack. One evening Rai finally decides to bring Ash in, but he needs to pass the initiation first. We'll see if the coywolf has what it takes.
