This week we've got another one of Mattie's flights of fancy: Is this utopian community "a mayor"? (Yes.) Anyway, huddle up for a cautionary tale...it's statist to not listen!
Municipal meeting minutes include: Experiencing Courtlessness, what if there was no mayor at all, was the 19th century grink there, libertarian outreach, chompers at dawn, donkey of the week, good gulch, and bear patrol but real.
East coast and midwest USA, catch Mattie on book tour! Or preorder Simplicity.

Small town being slowly but steadily overrun by a creeping growth of insane people and bears slowly gaining sentience feels like an Annihilation-esque biological horror premise

2025-07-24 19:17:28 +0000 UTCI'm from Grafton, VT- the good twin to this town- and coyotes are just like that in New England. farmers in MA/VT/Upstate NY tried to kill off the wolf population in the 1800s, but the survivors bred with the coyotes and now the VT Fish + Game Department finds buck deer every year pack killed by supercoyotes. also in 2021 a pack of coyotes were stalking people at Boston beaches. happened to me once but I'm not running to the news about it 😴
