Update Galore: Patron-Only Community, Signal Number Problems, Consulting, Monthly Events, & More!

Hey everyone, Henry here. We recently published some updates for you, but there are many more we need to talk about! Let's get right into it:

Removal of the $3 Tier

As stated in our previous update, we went ahead and removed our $3 tier to simplify the tiers for people. Thank you to everyone who stuck around! 

Monthly Events

We've now had two monthly events, they were so much fun! But I'd love to hear your thoughts on them. (if any) Do you have ideas for a future topic you want covered? Do you have feedback on how to make them better? I want these events to be useful for you, so your feedback is much appreciated.

Patron-Only Community!

Many of you left comments on our recent post regarding a possible patron-only community, thanks for the feedback! In short, we are likely to proceed with this, but we're still ironing out the details. Expect another update in the coming weeks :) In the meantime, we have a patron-only area via Discord.

Signal Number Problems

This is a somewhat serious issue that needs to be talked about. I originally posted my Signal number as a way for our largest fans (you) to get help & advice directly from me. This perk was heavily relying on a trust system to:

• Keep the number only among patrons
• Use the number for mostly on-topic privacy/security-related issues & questions
• Not be creepy!

Unfortunately, within the last few months, all three of these things were violated, some on multiple occasions. It's become abundantly clear to me that as our Patreon community has grown, there are some things I'll be unable to do going forward. Posting my Signal being one of them :( I want to apologize to all of you who have been dealing with my lackluster communication on Signal. Because of the situation, it led to me avoiding the platform altogether, and many of you have expressed your discontent with my response rate, which is valid. I'm sorry again for this and should have communicated the problems sooner.

From here, I can't take my number back. So if you have me on Signal, you have me on Signal :) Look at it as an early-bird supporter perk that people can no longer get! Aside from this, our consulting service is continuing to accept more clients, and I need to be dedicating my time to giving those individuals support. Takeaways:

• My Signal number is being removed from Patreon
• If you have my Signal number right now, you'll still be able to chat with me and nothing changes
• If you were part of the problem, I'll be DMing you on Patreon and letting you know that Signal is off the table for you. (Sorry not sorry)
• We have consulting you should consider joining if you're looking for individual help on your privacy & security journey.
• No one is forcing you to stay here if this is a deal-breaker for you. We appreciate all of your support and we couldn't do what we do without it, but we never want you to feel like you're forced to be here. Please feel free to put your money & energy into other places if you no longer wish to support us due to decisions we're making!

Discount Removal

Our upper tiers have several discounts for Go Incognito, merch & consulting. Out of the several months they've been in place, they've been utilized only a few times. So we'll be removing those discounts in the near future due to their lack of use.

Allies & Consulting

This update only impacts our Anonymous Allies, our largest supporters! ($50/m tier) I gave a heads up in our most recent update that we'll likely be phasing out consulting in the near future, and it's about that time.

Because we have a formal consulting service now, the lines are very blurred between this tier and our consulting service. If you're currently an Anonymous Ally, you'll have your monthly meetings for the rest of the year, but beginning in January, the meetings will cease to exist & formally migrate to being for consulting only.

To recap:

• Monthly meetings are being removed from the tier for all new patrons.
• If you're currently an Anonymous Ally, you will still have your monthly meetings for the rest of this year.
• Starting January, 2022, meetings will be completely phased out. 
• We're still deciding what to do with the $50 tier when this is all said & done :) 

So that's going to wrap up all our updates! We have the most number of supporters we've ever had on Patreon, and it's so crazy seeing how many of you believe in our mission ❤️I couldn't be more grateful for this, so thank you. See you all soon!
