Making the new spring would be pretty cool, especially if it would be yellow zinc plated. Yeah it's so cool to have both shops so close together. You can drive back and forth without thinking and planning to much, I love it.

I don't think so. Would've been cool though

I'm looking forward to 3 things now: Putting the spring on the speedometer cable. That should be wild. Making another tool to use. You are the best at that. Shop infrastructure upgrade!! Wheeeeeee! This was fascinating. I'm glad the old shop & new shop are so close. It makes things convenient. This might not be appropriate, but I'm going to share anyway. Long time ago, we bought a duplex (two houses basically stuck together). My mom lived on one side, and we lived on the other. She was preparing dinner for all of us in her side when she remembered she needed something. I had it at home and said I'd go get it. She started apologizing for 'making me go home'. I remember looking at her and dramatically sighing, "Oh, Mom, it's such a burden and inconvenience to have to walk a whole 40 feet!" (12 meters). We joked about that for years.

Morning MM, just a little thought. Is it possible to open the crimps on the fitting on the speedo cable? If you could you could remove the existing spring, and then recrimp the fitting afterwards.
