As a Jewish person (studying to be a Rabbi!), I feel that when he uses that term in a public forum, non-Jewish people will feel like they can say it too. It's not a word that we need to reclaim or anything like that, and I'm irked that it was said at all. I still adore the AFE fam, and am a gigantic fan, but I felt I had to say something on that.
