I wanted to thank you for the FFVI medley you released last month. There is no other track that I’ve listened to on repeat more than the medley, to the point the CD of the soundtrack (obtained in 1995 via mail order for like $80!) skips at the start of the medley and has to be scrubbed through about 20 seconds to even get it to play anymore. Shadow’s theme takes on a whole different life in the medley and the first time I heard it as a kid I didn’t believe it was his theme. I had to beat the game again the next day and record the music off the tv with a hand recorder just so I could listen to it again and inspect it against the twangy guitar version that played when you ran into him early on. From there I listened to the staticky version over and over for months until I got a hold of the soundtracks, and it remains my favorite game theme to date. When I saw this video in your feed I sat and watched/listened to it with full attention and even though I knew it was coming my heart still fluttered - not even kidding, it really did - when the strings swelled. I’m sitting here now, just absolutely shaken by the experience, and felt I needed to resub to your patreon right away to let you know. Thank you. Thank you so much.
