Blink of an Aya | Unused Strips
So, just to recap, Blink of an Aya is a new combination of two comics that I started running after TG back in 2011/2012. The first was The Idle State, which is where the whole school newspaper idea came from. I really thought it was going to be easy to do a simple gag-a-day after doing TG, but it didn't work out that way.
Really, I think it was primarily a reason to introduce Bex.

Chapter covers are a new thing for me, but they are a good opportunity to get a little more weird and artsy with it than I normally would in the reality-grounded comic, and that includes getting into a certain dramatic-ass character’s overactive imagination.

That's harder to do than it looks!
As a writer, you have to make some interesting decisions. Early on, I determined that Rose was not a natural redhead. I specifically wanted to go for more of a bottle-dye look, because while this red is not exactly found in nature, it certainly catches the eye.
