Mid to End of July Update!

This is the current state of the game. I've attached a screen capture video showing off some of the things I've been working on. Almost all of it is UI related. There's still a LOT to do. Even in this quick preview there is a bug that occurs where a popup window describing items appears when it shouldn't. Still, over the last couple weeks I feel I have come to understand Godot a lot more and I'm feeling more confident than ever. A month ago, I was mired in doubt and frustration.

Very Important Announcement

So, I have good news and bad news.

The bad news is I am discontinuing work on One-Inch. There are a slew of reasons, all of them related to Quest. I, with the help of some wonderful people, have managed to push Quest above and beyond what I thought it could do, but at the moment it is straining under the weight of the scope of this project. It just doesn't make sense to keep moving forward knowing some major bugs may not be resolveable using Quest.

Beta 0.061 is here!

Some significant bug fixes and QOL changes. See below for details:

  • When fighting only one enemy, selecting attack will automatically select that one enemy
  • Auto Attack option added in battle. All allies will attack the first enemy to the left with a single click
  • Fixed issue with doors being broken, disallowing passage through them

Beta 0.06+ is here

All major changes are listed in the changelog.

I plan on releasing more public 0.06 updates as I work on fixing known bugs and whatever bugs players report. So, yeah, this first beta is a bit rough, I apologize, but I couldn't wait any longer to release something. Because of this, I do not recommend attempting a full playthrough of this first beta unless you're hunting for bugs. You can access a lot of the new content under the Chapter Select screen.

Beta Release Delay

Due to some pretty nasty bugs I've uncovered while playing through the game, there will be a small delay in the release of Beta 0.06. I'm fairly confident I can resolve these issues by the end of next week the latest. I know this is not the news any of you were hoping for, but it will be for the better. Since save files can't be transferred, I have to make sure as many game breaking bugs are dealt with as possible before a beta release.

Build 276 Last Pre-0.06 alpha

This marks the final alpha upload before the public beta release of 0.06. There will be bugs and I will squash them over the next week. Also, there are still a few renders left to do but all the writing is done and the events are set up, though again they may be a bit buggy atm.

Changes to Patreon Subscriptions

Starting today, all former patreon subscriptions are unpublished. They are replaced by a single $4 tier that gives all the benefits that the previous $5 tier gave. You'll get early access to alphas, vip discord treatment, patreon exclusive posts, and more direct access to me, the developer.

Changes Coming in April

I've spent a lot of time thinking about this and come April I will be making some changes to Patreon tiers. I'll be honest, I simply only have one thing to offer to subscribers and that includes discord benefits and early alpha access. NOTES: This looks like a lot more than it is. Lots of these changes are minor tweaks that could be easily overlooked. In a bit of a last minute upset, over the last 24 hours, Joanne and Stephanie some how clawed their way back from a distant 2nd place to surpass Rene and Teresa and claim 1st. There were some pretty serious game-breaking bugs discovered very quickly upon release. The worst have been addressed in this update. I'd expect another update in a week or two as bug reports come in and are compiled.

Alpha build 222

I just wanted to post an official update here on the patreon outside of the discord. So far, a lot of progress has been made for 0.05. I can't be sure of a release, but I would say sometime early to mid July. 

All of the work I intend to do on Tina, as a side event, has been done. In the latest build two new characters, Joanne and Stephanie received an official introduction but they have no content outside of that as of yet.
