Throughout the 90s, we frequently peppered our show with music from earlier eras, playing music we loved that many of our listeners may not have been up on or in some cases, frowned upon. It was a fun yet subtle way of highlighting the interconnected DNA of hip-hop from the park-jam DJ era, through early rap, into our 90s, where layered loops and densely scripted raps reigned.
