Chapter 5 April Update

We're really cooking with this chapter, the entire team is going so hard on it. I know I've missed the early April hopeful release date. But the release is near, we're looking at mid-May.

But let me give you an update on just how much work has been made.

We're crossing the 30k word mark with the script, it will be our biggest to date. And there just isn't a good place to split it into two parts in my opinion.

Update on the sprite artist search

Currently we have 8 applicants for the position. What we've asked of them is to give us a concept sprite, let's see Aldric in the style they envision for Northern Lights and its art direction.

We are giving a two week window for these concept sprites to be returned. After that point the team will discuss all the options and pick our top 3. When we have the top 3 we will be sharing them with the trailblazer tiers and up for discussion and feedback.

Chapter 4 is here!

We're absolutely thrilled to get Chapter 4 out to y'all. Serving as a soft relaunch of Northern Lights, I hope you enjoy the build we've crafted for you, and everything that has been refined.

I know it's been a long wait, but we're using this as our turning point to work towards more reliable release windows for y'all. With Chapter 5 planned for late March.

Production update

Hey guys got a bit of an update for you.

When we release chapter 4, we're considering it a soft relaunch of Northern lights. With added backfill to chapter 1, 3, a refined gallery, and some special additions. We're marking this as a turning point with development, that will provide more steady and predictable release dates.

Chapter 4 Update

Howdy guys. Apologies for being quiet for a little while. Late August and September have kept me fairly busy.

But writing has been proceeding well.

I'm happy to share with you the finished background of a mall food court by one of our new additions to the team. This artist will also be making a CG for chapter 4.

New Hire!

I'm delighted to announce the addition of another background artist to the Northern Lights team.

Itymrno will be working with us for the foreseeable future, specializing in interior backgrounds. The first up will be Vincent's home cabin, so keep an eye out for this WIP updates, and it'll appear for the first time when we release chapter 4.

Post Release Update

Just shy of 2 weeks ago we got Chapter 3 out to y'all, and I am beyond overjoyed with your feedback and reception. Better than I ever could of hoped for. We considered several things about this build to be a 'statement moment'. The first real solid experiences that prepare you for what lay ahead in future builds.

But with good news a touch of bad news has to come. We won't be able to get Chapter 4 out to you by the end of July. HAPS is continuing to take a much needed mental heal...
