I liked the pacing of this week where it's a bit of studying and then  a little bit of applying what I learned to a larger piece. The  unfortunate part about this structure is I don't get to dedicate enough  time to the large piece so at the end I feel like it's not as good as it  could be haha.

However I really enjoyed making this and I think I might try to do more futa versions of fanarts in the future! :)<...

So this week I was tasked to do some Futa studies and after studying  some Futa scenes with thumbnails I wanted to do a fanart of this  character I came across! :) there are a few different versions though  cause I couldn't make up my mind.

Kneesocks Speedpaint Reward

OK so THIS was AWESOME to draw. I used one of the thumbnails I drew last week which gave me more time to work on details and shading! 

It was super fun drawing a character with red skin, it's a fun colour to shade with, I don't think I did a perfect job though. The clothes I wish were a bit better but granted I only got to spend Thursday working on them.

I can't believe how many different versions there are this time but I felt very inspired with the whole 'leaked snapchat' idea.

The idea popped up while I was watching a stream, some guys were talking about the type of p*rn they enjoy lately and one of them mentioned that a lot of p*rn stars are using Snapchat to create interesting ads for their p*rn.

I think that the appeal with these is the amateur vibe it kind of gives off. At least with the art even if it...

Thumbnail Practice Speedpaint

I think the BIGGEST takeaway for me practicing all these thumbnails is that all the supplementary practice I was doing in my free time (practicing lines of action in my sketchbook) has paid off IMMENSELY.

Tracing was definitely something I used to rely on as a crutch when I first begun doing this art stuff but it was always my goal to stop relying on that because...

A. It always makes your drawings look really stiff

B. You don't really learn how to draw anatomy......

Thumbnail Practice!

This week was a LOT we got 24 thumbnails this week of fun scenes! I even made some of the references myself (don't ask how -.-;)

Anyway I enjoyed doing a variety here but unfortunately there won't be any process images this week either ;< let me know if that's disappointing!

Expression Practice (Speedpaint)

Speedpaint! I was pleasantly surprised with the time of this, I felt I didn't do as much work this week but I think I learned a lot I didn't expect to learn!

Expression Study

Pretty low energy week but it was nice to get started with something a little simpler...

There won't be any process pics tomorrow because I don't really have anything but there will still be a video.

I think this was the first time really practicing different expressions maybe in the future I will try expression sheets to try and get more diversity? Here I was just trying to be less afraid of smile lines. It can be pretty easy to change the entire look of your character...

You can see here that it took me forever and I unfortunately had to encode at a lesser quality cause my pc couldn't handle it! Woo hoo!

Few extra process images here! This piece was pretty intense to make  and even now I still see things I wish I could have more time on...

I think in terms of lighting I would like to try more contrast, and  trying a different settings like night would have been awesome...

I would love to write more but I am exhausted and will be taking next week off. Poll will be up next friday :)

There's a lot here, at first it was tough starting off but as I started getting more practice it became a lot of fun to do!

Definitely one of the best things about making art for Patreon/Substar is having that motivation for when I might feel lazy.  I often find when I do feel a little like procrastinating it's best to just suck it up and just pick up that pen and draw, in no time I get into the groove of ...

Material Study

Here's some material studying I did this week!

I started with gems, some fire, wet skin, wood, lantern thing, rock, cloth, water droplet, bubble, condom, fur, ethereal thingy, and then tried painting different materials on balls such as matte lighting etc...

No poll tomorrow because I will be drawing for a contest next week!! :) I'll see how I'm feeling after next week and might do a hentai piece then if I am not totally exhausted.

Food Study (Speedpaint!)

Is there a better way to do Valentine's day? I think not! Food is uh...something to do with love?

This was a fun study and I realised it is kinda tough trying to draw the texture of cake, how do you draw all those tiny holes without ugly textured brushes!? Bleh!!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to next week!

Hiya! Little different this week but overall some fun stuff! A nice little collection of food I think and I'm pretty sure a couple of these I have already drawn before!

My back is super sore right now so I kind of just want to get this over and go lie down..

This week was a bit hectic and I did replace my pen nib with a new one, the new texture is quite alien to me and not sure how I feel about it just yet, but I'm looking forward to experimenting!

In order to really learn something new you need to put it into practice! Using the methods I studied I applied them to this piece to improve my face game!

Sometimes when painting a face I'll dread the 'fixing' process because there's always something that's off. Usually this feeling comes from knowing that something needs to be resolved but not quite knowing how.

Panty & Stocking With Gartbelt Fan Art

Here's the long awaited end of January piece!

I spent 9+ hours on this! And I enjoyed every bit of it :) Up to the end it was a little maddening because I kept spotting small things I wanted to fix or change and I kept going "oh I remember i need to fix that!!" unfortunately that's the list that will never end.

There's 3 versions, 1st one is with Photoshop light rendering, 2nd is original with light rays, and 3rd is no sweat or light rays :)

This is the combined work of my pose studying and the fan art of Zero No Tsukaima! I enjoyed watching this video and as I watched it I think I was able to pick apart some stuff and learn a little bit from it too. It's always interesting watching how I work and I think it's nice to be able to watch it, somehow it feels useful?

Louise Saito Process

This was a big two day venture and one I am so happy I managed to crank out.

I wish I could have spent more time on lighting as I mentioned earlier but there's only so much you can do.

This piece was started in a unique way for me as I actually began painting the background first to have a visual reminder of what the lighting vibe would be like! I chose something intimate and moonlit so there is one final with the moonlight...

This week I did a BUNCH of pose studies but to stick with the regular schedule I decided to take one further and do a cute fan art :)

I worked really hard on this for the past couple of days to get it where I imagined, and I think I did a really good job. I wish I had more time to work on it and do more hand-painted lighting effects but that's ok I am still really happy with this work!

Pose Studies

This week I did some pose studies! 

Honestly I think it feels kind of wrong to do this kind of work on a tablet. It feels more natural to do it traditionally because it's easier to make mistakes and just change them whereas on tablet it just feels like everything you draw has to be very deliberate...

So in the future if I do anything sketchy like this again I might try and do a bunch of traditional stuff instead...
