Secret Project

Wobbly Dev post Secret Project

I am excited about this new project. I needed a win—some coding and creative project that I could realistically finish and execute and share with people online. You patrons and my ko-fi supporters will be the first to test it in alpha if you want.

Hello Everyone

I am so sorry for the lack of communication on this platform, I honestly did not think there were any of you still subscribed. Thank you all so much for your continued support of my projects!

I may be closing this campaign down soon to try and streamline my online presence and interactions. To that end, if you would still like to support me and have access to the beta tests of Syndical Crossing and other games I m...

Wobbly Dev post Let's Model an Enormous Coffee Pot and Mug!

It's a well-known fact that syndicalists are generally powered by agitation and caffeine. The workers of Syndical Crossing will certainly need ways to consume coffee and tea, so let's model those assets in 3ds max.

Syndical Crossing Update

I'm happy to report my newly reconstructed machine is performing efficiently. I am working on a proof of concept level for Syndical Crossing and will be opening it up to patrons first for testing purposes. If you would like to be included in initial testing phases reply to this thread with your timezone.

Thank you all for being here and supporting these games. I wish I had more time to devote to them.

Hello new people

Just saw that a few new faces have started supporting this patreon. Thank you very much.

Organizing is ramping up significantly in my area and due to economic factors I have taken on a number of odd jobs, so both of those are asking for my time.

However, I am sneaking hours every week to continue development of Syndical Crossing, and I hope to have more of that to show very soon. Regular devlog updates for that p...

All I want to do is work on this game

I got my day/night cycle working over the weekend. Since the game is intended to take place in one specific region of the game world, I need to decide what real-world timezone to adopt in order to keep things consistent.

Considering the game takes place (most likely) in a tropical archipelago, would it make sense to choose somewhere like that, or will that mean most play testers would be playing in the m...

Why I am a Wobbly

Wobbly Dev post Why I am a Wobbly

I wanted to share this with all of you first to get some feedback before I posted it anywhere else.

I get asked now and then why someone should join the IWW as opposed to any of the respected business unions available. My industry is generally not unionised, so there's that reason, but this is the real, deeper reason. Those other unions won't fight for our freedom from wage slavery. They will try to improve the conditions of our shared enslavement and I appreciate that, but as I've said...

Organizing DON'Ts #4

Wobbly Dev post Organizing DON'Ts #4

Mythic tales often portray superhuman heroes who can do everything themselves. Leave that sort of thing to the fairy tales. Organizing is done collectively, supporting one another and running our campaigns democratically. Never organize alone. There is power in a union.

A 1-on-1 is not idle chit chat. It is a conversation with a purpose—to agitate, educate and inoculate a fellow worker. Adding alcohol to the mix will never help your cause.

Syndical Crossing Story So Far...

In the beginning, cat-kind was ruled by a seemingly endless parade of selfish monarchs who wielded godlike power over the masses. They were unaccountable, unelected and uninterested in the plight of the commoners under their control. They raised armies, fought wars, tortured, enslaved and colonised all the world, forming grand nation-states in their wake.

In the modern year 1312, an army of pea...

I started a new thing and a devlog for it

Syndical Crossing is meant to be a cute, fun critique of the extractive capitalist tendencies of the better-known game to which it pays homage.

I have started and not finished many projects over the years. I have started and finished many more.

After watching something like 200 hours of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, I felt compelled to start a journey. This game is a manifestation of tha...

In one-on-ones with your coworkers, saying the "U" word too early can lead to confusion and/or fear. [a coworker sweats and looks anxious, saying "What are you even TALKING about? Oy! No way! We'l...

What Would This Look Like?

I'm a mess of conflicting motivations these days, fellow workers. I have so many creative projects all floating in a state of limbo, and of course I have been dreaming of another.

I was wondering last night while trying to fall asleep, what would a game called Syndical Crossing be like? What gameplay would be fun and also run in line with syndicalist theory?

This, of course, was inspired by some of the kids in my life playing hundreds of hours of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The...

Hello, fellow workers. I am taking a bit of a risk and spending more of my work day drawing these little comics. It brings me joy and I am wondering if it feasible for me to earn more funds through this patreon thing. We shall see. What do you think of this different style for these shorter comics?

Wow do I want to quit my job

How about you? Do you enjoy what you do for work? It's not a rhetorical question, I am really curious.

As much as I hate my job, I must recognize how fortunate I am to be employed at all during the pandemic. I am  fortunate that I am not put in physical danger every time I clock in. Still, it has been said that there is no monopoly on suffering.

I do not sleep much, but when I do I am prone to very vivid dreams. I had one such dream a few nights ago, wherein I got to make gam...

The Solidarity Engine

I forced myself to take a break to work on the lightweight dynamics engine I've been tinkering with. I am very pleased with how the refactoring has gone.

First versions relied on individual actors to predict and resolve their own collisions. This proved to be very unstable and resulted in a lot of interpenetration.

I knew I wanted the system to be as simple as possible, and overseen by a single entity. That entity would know every object in the scene, their properties, trajectorie...

Hello, 17 patrons

How are you doing? How are your families? I hope all of you and the people in your lives are healthy. We had a scare this week, but thankfully everyone is ok.

If you are organizing in the midst of this, I encourage all of you to remember to breathe.

Like so many, I suffer from panic attacks. Closing my eyes and breathing deeply and methodically is one of the only tools I can use to relieve the symptoms. It made me think about the act of breathing, our relationship with one a...

Hi, 14 Patrons

Welcome, to our 2 new friends. Thank you for being here and for your support.

I have been abandoning a majority of social media lately to conserve my emotional energy. The landscape out there is toxic and I rarely have the capacity to deal with it. I thought I might use this small space to air thoughts and solicit conversation, if you like.

Right now I'm procrastinating. I have work I should be doing. I am so lucky to be able to work from home. I am staring at the list of things t...

Hello 12 Patrons

Thank you for being here. How are you all doing? Are you participating in the mass actions? If so, I hope you are organizing safely.

If you are unable to participate directly, know that there is so much you can do to help that does not involve marching. Marching is important, but so is providing support.

Personally, I am conflicted. I want so terribly to make art and specifically games, but I am hounded by the incredible gravity of this moment. Every time I sit down to create, the...
