Competing with Levi Strauss

1) To brand this model I searched for clothing logos from the Wild West era (there weren't many duh) and apparently Levi jeans have the oldest one in American history: https://www.levistrauss.com/2014/08/04/lsco-logo-named-5th-oldest-in-the-world/
In Levi's logo two horses are pulling a pair of trousers apart, so I decided to annex this brand but Crazy Diamond it (I think you'll get it).
2) I really really like this old photograph of Buffalo Bill. I think it's a restoration because other scans of it are more sepia. But I specifically love how black and matte leather boots and gloves look in this version. I always seek some little inspirational detail because just imitating Araki or filling line art with random colors is boring. BUT, I wanted to retain that distinct BIZARRE fit design Araki produced while giving it somewhat real Wild West texture.
The end result does look more like a batsuit or a biker jacket but COOL.
3) The puffy collar! I was going to paint it as well but got so used to looking at the plain white shading and then I noticed something. Puffs often "burn out" in old photographs and loose most of detail. And old black and white photography (THE LIGHTHOUSE!!!) is what dominates my current JOJ approach.
I love what live action Rohan did to the over-used overly-colorful JoJo's Bizarre Adventure image. It is kind of telling that it got super popular back home but not so much outside Japon. Manga is originally black and white and that's what makes those gorgeous color covers stand out, I prefer the pages themselves to be color-less. But it seems that overseas everyone reads fan colorings and forgets how cool the use of negative space and color limitations can be.
