We were standing about 20 feet from the setup cheering on a 1.5 second delay.

The argument for bad viewership at GX because of a new twitch channel is real. I knew Genesis was happening and I just instinctively check btssmash and it wasn't streaming it so I assumed it hadn't started or was down. Only for top 8 did I go out of my way to find the actual broadcast.

The segment on highschool tragedies dug up crazy story from depths of my mind. Freshman year I remember there was a day majority of people were wearing black and handing out white ribbons. Turns out two teens were murdered by their uncle, then the uncle fled to Hong Kong

I manage the warehouse for a plumbing company and when you guys started talking about cum gutters I was cutting scrap copper. I had this big 2 inch copper clean out I was cutting. When I cut into it, solidified shit stuck inside turned into smoke and started shooting out of the uncapped part of the pipe. I was met with a terrible smell and when I got through the pipe there was just solid shit inside. Then I dumped it out and continued on with my day. Thanks for reading. Thanks for the pod.

I also wanna add that I don't think Melee should be run before Ulti or anything. Anyone who watches both games can tell you that Melee is by far and away the better spectator game. And this is coming from someone that's barely played Melee and has hundreds of hours in Ulti LOL

I think there's a few issues that led to GX being lower viewership, but one big issue I see is running melee so late in the day. I understand wanting to have the matches at prime-time local time, but living on the east coast essentially made this event unwatchable. Shit started at like 9:30 EST, and ended after 1am. It's just unreasonable to expect anyone on the east coast who has a job to stay up that late on a work night. This is the main reason you'll see CS events that are in America being run at EU prime time. They want to capture the largest audience possible, and running your event when a large section of your audience is going to sleep is just shooting yourself in the foot. This unfortunately is a problem across the whole smash scene, and if there aren't adjustments to timings, then it probably won't get better.
