đ˘ Update on VR Development & Our Path Forward
Added 2025-09-22 10:48:21 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
We want to take a moment to share with you, honestly and transparently, whatâs been happening with the VR side of our project.
As some of you may already know, Epic Games (Unreal Engine) stopped officially supporting VR more than three years ago. This has created huge roadblocks for anyone trying to build VR games on Unreal today. The result? Every time a new headset comes outâlike the Oculus Quest 3âmassive incompatibilities appear. And itâs not just Quest 3: any VR headset update can break Unreal-based games, causing issues with controllers, visuals, or even making games unplayable.
This situation is incredibly frustrating, and hereâs the truth: itâs not a lack of knowledge, itâs a lack of resources. Unrealâs VR tools are outdated, buggy, and in many cases completely broken. To put it in perspective: ironically, building a full multiplayer game in Unreal is easier than making VR work reliably. If our game were being built in Unity or Godot, VR would be smoothâbut thatâs not the case here.
â ď¸ Why this matters
We know many of you have been waiting for VR content, and we deeply understand the frustration. But this is something beyond our control. Unless Epic Games decides to bring back VR support, there wonât be a âperfect fix.â
That being saidâwe refuse to let this stop us.
đĄ Our Solution
To compensate, weâre shifting gears:
Weâre bringing you non-VR games that run smoothly.
Our multiplayer game is already in an advanced stage of development, and progress has been incredibly fast. Unlike VR, this is an area where we have full knowledge and freedom, so we can move forward at high speed.
Hereâs the ironic part: while VR is a constant uphill battle, the multiplayer side is moving so quickly that we could practically have a new game ready in just a week or two if we focus on it.
đĽ About Us
Keep in mindâweâre just three people. Three passionate developers who donât need a huge team to deliver. Our pace has been slowed down only because of VRâs broken state in Unreal, not because weâre holding back.
Now that weâre leaning into what actually works, development is moving faster than ever.
â¤ď¸ A Thank You to Our Community
We know many of you have felt frustrated, and we completely understand. But we hope this clears things up: this isnât negligenceâitâs just the reality of working with VR on Unreal. What we can promise is that weâll keep building, keep creating, and keep delivering games youâll enjoy.
Your support means the world to us. Thank you for sticking with us through the challenges. The road may not be easy, but together, weâre still moving forwardâand fast.
Comments
I seen you guys said being made in Unity or Godot would be smoother for VR. Could those game engines be a possibility in the future if you guys were to explore the VR sector again? And good luck with your projects!
