Hey Folks!

A bit of tool'ception to close out the year! This one will make an appearance in the dial indicator project and I expect in several other projects too.

Thanks very much for your support this year, have a great Christmas and I will see you all in the New Year.

Cheers,

Chris.

Hello mate, I don't have a Sherline mill, just the SX3 - Cheers :)

Clickspring

Chris. did you use your Sherline mill to to the boring. Because that one does not look like a Sherline. cheers :)

Ralph McCoy

https://www.sherline.com/product/ww-collet-adapter - Cheers :)

Clickspring

Thank you cheers

Ralph McCoy

cheers

Ralph McCoy

Chris do you have a part number for the adapter sleeve from Sherline

Ralph McCoy

Thank you mate - Sherline make a distinction between "8mm" and "WW" when talking about collets; they do accomodate what they call 8mm, but its more from a compatibility perspective. You can find more detail on their site on this page: https://www.sherline.com/product/11611163-ww-8mm-collet-adapter-and-drawbar/?attribute_options=WW+%28.312-.313%29#description. Their native standard is what they call WW, that is sized to work with their WW adapter in their spindles. You can get the WW blank here: https://www.sherline.com/product/2083-ww-collet-with-1-blank/#description - Cheers :)

Clickspring

I could not find any 8mm collet blanks on Sherline's website... Was that one you made yourself? Beautiful video :)

Borislav

Hi Richard, I generally use EN8 for small screws - Cheers :)

Clickspring

Chris, sure this has been asked before, but what kind of steal do you normally use for your screws.

Richard Carl Haass

Cheers mate :)

Clickspring

Merry Christmas mate! I use all of the stock music services eg premium beat, audio jungle etc - Cheers :)

Clickspring

What an enjoyable video. Such attention to detail and a great result!

PeetieGonzalez

Merry Christmas, Chris! Always a treat to watch a master at work! And I've been meaning to ask for a while now, where do you get your music for your videos? The tunes are always on point!

Brandon

Merry Christmas Robert!

Clickspring

Cheers Grant!

Clickspring

Merry Christmas to you & family John, looking forward to next year :)

Clickspring

Thank you Graeme!

Clickspring

It's great to see such much attention to detail even when you're “just” building a tool for the shop. Merry Christmas!

Robert

Even your fixtures are a work of art! Really enjoyed this one, Chris. Thank you!

Grant Hullinger

Chris, Merry Christmas, and thanks for another wonderful video.

John S Dilsaver

Thanks for posting Chris, some licious work there! GB :)

Graeme Brumfitt

Cheers Kent!

Clickspring

As always, I just get sucked right in. Thanks for the great video, excited to see how it ends up!

Kent Slaymaker

Thanks Kevin, very much appreciate your continued support :)

Clickspring

Its an excellent little saw, works well for what I need it to do - Happy Christmas to you too mate :)

Clickspring

Fantastic as usual. I'm glad to still be supporting you for this level of media. I still do love the accent. Makes me realize why girls dig it .

Kevin Reardon

I love your attention to detail. I was looking in the video to see what your new bandsaw is, and then found your list in the video notes! Duh, I knew I should have looked there first! Fantastic video as always. Looking forward to the next videos on all your current projects. Happy Christmas!

Philip Oestreich

Thanks Mike, Merry Christmas!

Clickspring

Beautifully done as usual, I'm looking forward to seeing how you make the clamps. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas!

Mike Michelizzi

I never stop thinking about watch design!

Clickspring

Theres usually several ways to get to the finish line, and each have their merits depending on the shop, tools and operator. It generally comes down to cutting tool availability and cost - a 17mm reamer is an expensive cutting tool to purchase for a one-off project, whereas the boring head gives a very similar result and can span a wide range - Cheers mate :)

Clickspring

Why did you chose to use a boring bar to open up the 3 holes? I would have thought a reamer would be a better choice.

Dan Parisian

With all the amazing machine-work you do, I tend to forget you’re a watchmaker. You’ve probably been asked before, but have you given thought to designing and building your own watch, with—dare I ask—a tourbillon?

d j

Cheers Jeffrey!

Clickspring

Great work, extremely well presented. I learn so much from your videos. Thanks!

Jeffrey Britton

Thank you Bruce - yes full time on the videos now, happily so - Cheers :)

Clickspring

I really like the philosophy behind https://openmovement.org/ anything that gets more people onto tools, learning, making, sharing what they know is a good thing - Cheers mate :)

Clickspring

Cheers mate :)

Clickspring

so pleasurable to watch the thinking and matching of a true artist at work... my only complaint is the disappointment when i realize that a video has ended and i'll have to wait for the next one... but then there's something to look forward to! question: are you still working as a vocational trainer or has 'clickspring' become your full-time thing?

bruce linde

Ooo, do I smell some more watchmaking projects? Not to add more crazy projects to your plate, but earlier in the year I saw there was a "Open Source" Watch Movement called the OM10 that the file could freely be downloaded...I was tempted to try my hand at it so this video came at the best time!

Anance

I love it, mustachioed and surprised :D

David Wheelen

Merry Christmas to you too mate!

Clickspring

Thanks Chris, appreciate all the effort you put into our entertainment. Merry Christmas!

Eric Greenberg

Thanks Chris :)
