You have spent a long time documenting the build, but if there was one maker, would they have been able to create 10 over a lifetime? And then, how long before wear in the gears would have created a problem in the system that would have caused a loss of accuracy?

2022-08-26 04:11:15 +0000 UTCI ended up making a slight adaption of that vise for my home "shop" (it also doubles as my office, so only hand-held and mostly not powered tools for ease of stowing). Still no fancy way of clamping it, I am using just an ordinary clamp.
