Tyranid Humanids

These showed up in my mind and I just had to jot them down. I wanted to play around with the Tyranid detailing on humanoid shapes. Perhaps they belong to a very special hivefleet? I could imagine a short story where humanoid mutated Tyranids show up, maybe cut off from the general hivemind and doing their own thing, even being capable of speech and acting very weird. But I suppose that's practically the role of the Genestealers.

Speaking of Genestealers, the "soulsucker" is from Space Crusade. I think I may have encountered that game before running into the miniatures. The soulsuckers would always appear out of nowhere... a mechanic around in the various Space Hulk games too. I never liked not being able to formulate reliable strategies due to this.. They'd be exceedingly annoying on the tabletop... probably appearing magically on turn 3 behind your squads. In Space Crusade I guess they were added as a timer to push the player off the map and create tension after most regular enemies were dead.

The Space Marines in Space Crusade had all sorts of now illegal weapons, the most powerful one perhaps being remote door control which was often used to crush the Chaos Dreadnought and enemy mobs. I bought the miniatures from the boardgame a few years back and am now in the process of painting a few up.
