Improved Mapping And New Styles
Added 2024-10-23 23:10:46 +0000 UTCHi everyone,
I'm excited to announce that the new mapping model is done training and is available on the website! Here's the TLDR on what that means.
Maps created now have better flow and are more stable
Subscribers can pick one of three new styles when generating your map- Tech, Balanced, and Dance.
Less random and floating arcs, less chains without heads, and much less unnecessary bomb and wall spamming
The AI is much less likely to break itself after placing too many objects in the map (If you had previously seen sections where the mapping pauses for long periods of time and the lightshow continues, this was the problem)
Of course, this new model also unlocks more possibilities for the future. This is the first model that could support 360 and 90 degree maps, so my attention will be going there next. I also have plans for a dedicated FitBeat model which would be based on this newly created model.
About the older models currently on the side. Mapping styles and improved mapping are NOT available on V1, only on V2. For people who prefer to use the old model for mapping, there is another style alongside the new three named "Legacy" which will use the original model for mapping.
Finally, you can also now like and dislike maps after they've been created, which I should hopefully be able to use to improve the overall performance of the model in the future.
Thank you everyone so much for supporting TopMapper, and I hope you enjoy the new features :). As always, feel free to comment with any suggestions for the future.

As someone new to beat saber, and luckily stumbled across your name being tossed around on reddit - whats the difference between balanced, dance & tech?
